my oldest son surprised me

My oldest son is eleven. He surprised me this year when he said for Christmas he wanted a Chess set. Even though it surprised me I thought it was great. He did get a chess set for Christmas and we played a game last night and again to my surprise he did fairly well. He said that a couple of his friends played it and was interested. I was more than happy to get it for him. So what did your kids want for Christmas that surprised you???
