I find it really hard to work out a time to put the stocking at the bottom of my kid's beds. It must have been about 11pm when I told my kids that it really was time for them to turn off the dvds and go to sleep. I thought that they would just fall asleep watching them but they didn't, they were way too excited! I wanted to go to sleep myself as I knew I would be woken up early the next day and it was going to be a long one. I was worried that I might wake them when I went into their rooms to pick up the empty stockings. I was worried that they might wake and say that their stockings were missing and catch me filling them. I was worried that I might wake them as the weight of them sank into their bed and they felt it. I thought that maybe I should set my alarm clock and do it in the early hours of the morning but what if they woke before me, how could I explain that Santa hadn't come? Shortly after I had turned off the tv and told them to sleep I could hear this harmonious humming coming from the bedrooms and my son's were snoring in harmony - quite literally! I struck while the iron was hot - 5 minutes and the job was done! Phew! It was 11.20 and my mission was complete but then I couldn't sleep - I was too excited! LOL
What time did Santa come to your children? Do you suffer from the same dilemmas?

I dont have this problem as my kids know ther eis no santa, I took the decision early on not to lie to them and before you ask they still have all the xmas magic they simply know that we get their presents and not some fat guy in a red suit. They see their presents under the tree for weeks and get all excited about openning them and dont lose any of the xmas spirit.

Hello AbbeyB
Santa never brings my kids big gifts like bikes or games consoles they know that I give them their main gift. I would never let a fictitious person take the credit for giving them a great gift whilst I look on in silence!! LOL.
They only get things in their stockings like chocolate, trump cards, notebooks, small cars etc.
Thanks Abbey

I think the crew at Mission Impossible would hire you in an instant my friend! Sounds like a military procedure and you have well and truly mastered it! That is highly amusing and you had me chuckling, I had you pictured there making as little noise as possible and checking to make sure no little eyes popped open! Or a 'mum' what are you doing! Why is it when you try to make the least noise possible everything is amplified! Well done mum! You did those boys proud by the sound of it! If only they knew he he he! You deserve a drink for that, bet you were shattered!

Hi ya wolfie34
I tell you it is really nerve wracking! Last year I took the stockings away wrapped all the little gifts, put them in the stockings and then replaced them but that was really daft so this year I wrapped all the gifts, then filled the stockings and replaced them!!
Cheers wolfie

I missed my mom. Oh, sorry about that. This just reminds me of her who lives far cry away. Haha, I guess I gotta go home during the Chinese spring festival!

We had a long day on Christmas eve because we travelled out to see my oldest daughter and had a wonderful day. Then later that evening we went to Mass, ready for Christmas day, so we was all tired for the evening when we got back, so the children slept well, and the next day I was only awoken at nine, so all the excitement started then.
