Does putting wallpaper on your computer take a lot of space?

I have an old IBM laptop with only 6.0 GB. Sometimes it runs a little slow. So far, I've just put the windows wallpaper that comes with windows 2000. I would like to have Detroit Tigers wallpaper but wondering if it will affect performance and if I should just play it safe and keep it the way it is.

Hi marty, you can use any photo as a wallpaper, it should be just suitable for the resolution of your system, then it looks good. Dont worry keeping any photo as wallpapers will not effect your system.

no, it should not do a whole lot to your computer. But if it does, then just simple take it off. Maybe in the near future, save up to get a new computer, because a computer usually stays good for only 5 years, so you must have taken good care with it.

It should not eat much of your space because it's only an image. But still your computer might hang for a few seconds if your wallpaper has a big amount of bites.
