Another mile stone along the way... Tonight, my youngest child (my son) is going on his first real date. And for some reason I feel so old! It only seems like yesterday that he learned to walk.. where on earth did time go?! He wouldn't let me take pictures of this event... and he wouldn't let me go too! (I tried!) lol! What do you do when your baby is growing faster than you are ready for him to? *sigh*

Well, all you can do is enjoy every moment. My older daughter is 19, and she was visiting for Christmas. She left today to go back to Vegas because she has to fly out tomorrow really early - she has to go back to work. My youngest will be 5 soon, I feel like I blinked. Just yesterday I was sad because I didn't have her. I remember when my son went over to visit this little girl he called his 'girlfriend'. He and the girl were just 12, and we were at her house, her mom and I were both chatting about it because neither of us knew how to feel about it lol. My son is 17 now and dating is 'old hat'. You know what? I take pictures anyway. I am the queen of sneaky. As far as going along, my best friend and I were already discussing about how we will have our daughters go on dates together and we'll borrow a neighbor's car and follow them.... have dinner wherever they go.... follow them on to the movie... and hide in the back. My poor daughter. I can just imagine hearing her griping to the boy and saying 'yeah, my mom is hiding over there, pretend you don't see her'....

I taught my Sons to be independent, so they could do things for themselves. Like cooking, washing clothes, sewing buttons on and stuff. Oh yea and cleaning up. When it was time for them to fly the coop I was ready for it and welcomed it. Yes they grow up fast and then they are gone but the trip is so fine.
