What is your favorite healthy meal?

We are trying to eat healthy at home. We were talking about what we wanted to eat that was good for you. My hubby came up with enchiladas, a chicken taco ( with sauce) and ribs. That was when I realised we really had no idea what healthy was. I know vegis are good and fat is bad, but what do we eat? What are your favorite ideas for a healthy and ballanced meal? Low cal and preferably high in stuff good for you...

My mom doesn't always prepare balanced or healthy meal so I do the initiative every time I am at home to always prepare for the kids a nutritious meal. Usually, during lunch, I prepare the following: - A cup of rice - 1 whole fish (fried or steamed) - Sauteed cabbage or any veggies like corn and carrots - A cup of yogurt after or a slice of fruit. No sodas just pure water or a fresh orange juice. Also my son has ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) so as much as possible, I do not offer him chocolates or other sweets. For breakfast, I offer my son cereals and milk. It facilitates my son's digestion. And for dinner: - 1 cup of rice - Meat with soup (example: chicken soup or beef stew) - A slice of fruit And a glass of milk before bedtime.

We are working as a family to drink more water as well. It is amazing how much it makes a difference. Rice is also a favorite of ours.

I think any meals that contain a good variety of different foods and avoid excess fat, salt or sugar could be described as healthy. It's your diet as a whole though rather than individual meals that you should concern yourself with. How about trying some no meat meals? I'm not vegetarian but we don't eat meat every day. There's so many different veggies and salads available, and different ways to prepare them, that there are endless varieties of 'healthy' meal options. I like stir fries with rice, veggies with pasta and hearty soups.

My favourite healthy meal are vegetables and fruits. Of course I couldn't have all meal with pure vegetables and fruits, so I will eat some bread and rice to make myself full. The vegetables and fruits are prepared and washed with pi-water, to discard the pesticides on the surface. Besides, if possible, I won't cook them because heat will destroy the nutrients within. Therefore, I like salad most. They are served with mayonnaise and thousand island sauce most of the time.

I like chicken so i get a lot of the boneless, skinless chicken. I make tacos, put them in my salad or make chicken sandwiches on wheat bread. I also just got a blender so i will be trying out some fruity drinks.
