*&%^$% Gift Cards with Hidden Fees!

i am so mad right now! i got a Visa Debit Gift Card (via walmart) for xmas this year..for a whopping $100!! i was stoked, books here i come! thought about it first..need some clothes, so bought 4 things at walmart.com for a grand total of $47.71..that leaves me with $52.29 left over for books! went to amazon.com and had a ton of books in my cart..placed the order, then realized id forgotten about the $47.71 already taken from it! i freaked out and went to the site and Checked the Card Balance to get the exact figure. ok..annoyed at myself for being stupid. cancelled the books i had to in order to make my grand total $52.02! PERFECT..happy happy me! placed the order and went about my business for a couple of hours. then for some reason i went back to check the gift cards balance (i cant remember what made me do that) but it said i only had $51.29 AVAILABLE!!! wtf?! they charged me to CHECK THE DAMN BALANCE ONLINE!! so i freaked out again and had to go back and end up cancelling another book so i could be under the limit and take into account the additional $1 they were going to charge me for checking the balance the second time! pisses me off when they do that crap..there should NOT be a damn charge for finding out how much is left on the card! anybody else get gift cards for xmas that you are being charged up the a$$ for things like this?! if not keep close track of your balance yourself and dont bother to try and check on it! they will charge you!
