A Time to Give Thanks

We are fast approaching the end of 2008 and as we await 2009, this might be a good time to give thanks for the year that is about to become a part of history. While we know that all time is man made, and means nothing in the grand scheme of things, as humans we have had to develop a way of putting things in focus. So as we look back over the past year let us give thanks. I know that many will say that 2008 was a terrible year for them and one which they just want to forget. I can understand that because we have all had these years, but lets see if we can find something to be thankful for amid all the heartache and heartbreak. If you have lost a loved one to death, remember the good times that you had together and try not to be bitter, because you are only harming yourself. Know too that the past cannot be changed, but should be laid to rest for the good of all concerned. If there has been a breakup in a relationship, remember the reasons and be thankful for what you have learned from it. There will always be things that we can't forget, and things that we don't want to forget and probably things that we should not forget but for our own well being we must not be bitter or plan revenge. Instead lets us give thanks for the good things of 2008 and we've all experienced some. By doing this we are in a better frame of mind to welcome 2009 with expectations for the best no matter what may appear to be looming on the horizon. I hope that this will reach at least one person who really needs it right now. Blessings.

Hi Pose123! I completely agree with you dear friend. The words of wisdom that you have just shared is something that a reader like me should be very thankful for. This is a reminder for me that although I have so many heartaches and pain this year, I still have so much to thank for. I am glad and thankful that I read this and I know that with the positivity of your message made my heart a little bit happier and stronger and full of hope in welcoming another year in my life.

Hello there Pose123, my tears is running down my face right now. I'm really being touch when you said "Know too that hte past cannot be changed........".
I'm facing a problem right now, and it's related to my past mistake. I really, really feeling sad, and depress right now. I don't know what should I do as it's affect my whole life since that time until now, and maybe until a day that I don't know when.
I just can'r stop thinking about it. Everytime I get myself flashing back the past, I will definitely feeling sad. Thank you for your advice.
Yaa..I should be thankful because that particular mistake has made me a better learner in life. I hope I will always do.

Hi Rexdoron, Thank you for commenting. I am sorry that you are so depressed and my heart goes out to you. While it is true that the past cannot be changed, the way we look at it can. No matter what happened in the past it is over and you must start living in the present. If there is nothing that you can do to correct the situation, than it does no good to be too rough on yourself. Remember you cannot take back anything you said or did in the past, but you can decide to make a better future by living right today. My thoughts are with you. Blessings.

Indeed year 2008 is not as good year as everybody is expecting. For the Chinese, it's a goodluck.
Despite of lots of trials, problems and difficulties that most of us have experienced this year, I'm so thankful to HIM for making my family more intact and all the blessings and favors that we received too. Every problem that we're dealing with is nothing if our family is there for us.
Have some wrong moved that I made and for that I've learned a lesson. With HIS guidance and Blessings I ask.

I can say that the beginning of my 2008 was very rocky and all was wrong won't go into detail.
As the year went on it gradueally got better and now it's at the end all is great.
I had done alot of crying and prayig in the beginning not believeing what was happening to me and what I had gone through asking god to just make things right and trust that in his time that he would and he did just that.
What seemed to take a eternity for him to do fineally all worked itself out and I
must say for 2008 I am thankful for god listening to my prayers and answering them
and makeing me believe that if we ask we shall recieve for what he has done for me
was a complete mireacle.

Looking back over the past year,who I want to give thanks is my dear mother.There is lots things happened in 2008.I changed my work and experenced a period of difficulty.For a better job,I gave up the work of saling digital product.But,I have no job in 3 months.Then ,my mother said to me:never give up and you are the best!Yes ,I did not surrender and finally I find the job what I excetlly like.So,thank you,my mother and I love you !

Yes, is important to start fresh and to be optimistic about our
future. We cannot change the past ,so is best to move forward
and be thankful for our many blessings because everything has
a purpose in life. Let's welcome 2009 with an open and positive
mind since we usually attract luck based on how we feel about ourselves.

Thank you Pose this is a great post it will hopefully make people rember how lucky they are for the little things they have and an make them greatfull I thought about my girls an my hubby when I read your post I hope everyone takes time to think of something they are thankfull for after reading your post thanks for giving me something to smile about this morning

2008 has been a rough year for many. But I have alot to be thankful for. My hubby has a decent job. My daughter is happy and healthy. And I was given a great gift this year. Just 2 weeks ago I was blessed with the birth of my son. I hope people will be able to look at this year and find something good.

I really have to say thanks to 2008 and bid adieu since it gave me a lot of lovely friends which served as fillip for my college life. i cant just imagine me without my college friends. Its like a feeling more than love . i understood that friendship is the ever sailing ship and none can break it or change it . it's a great feeling . As we approach towards 2009 ,i wish all of you a advanced happy new year. Let the forth coming year bring riches , glory and happiness to everyone. let tsunami like disasters and mumbai terror attacks dont happen in future . May GOD BLESS EVERYONE .
