I've ben with AC for about 3 years. I have writers block so often I get discouraged and just stop. I can write, I just can't find a topic that would be interesteing enough for AC to buy or others would want to read! But I still try. I do fair on page view earnings but submissions are so few! So I am starting up working on it again and with my blogs and Squidoo and AC I have this to ask..... I have struggled with keyword and SEO for 2 years now and still have tons of trouble making them work for me. So I ask you experts here on My Lot.... if you could say 3 specific things about keywords/SEO to help get articles bought by AC and more page views on AC, what would those three things be?

1. Write about popular topics. You may have a lot to say about an obscure frog in South America, but people want to read about Hannah Montana. 2. Write your article, then count how many times you've used the keywords you're aiming for. Rewrite until they're at least 10$ of the text. In other words, if you write a 600 word piece, 60 of the words should be a keyword. 3. Use your main keyword in the title and in the subtitle if you can do it without it sounding awkward. Use it more in the first paragraphs because that's where a search engine looks first, but try to sprinkle it throughout the piece. Hope that helps. I haven't written for AC for quite awhile, but I have several articles there that are doing pretty good.

IT does help. My trouble is finding those popular things that people like so that they would read about them! But your analogy of the keyword structure is great. I shall work on that...when i can find something to write about!

That 10$ was supposed to have been 10%. Bonus tip: Proofread your work. MyLot is good for starting ideas, but so are a lot of other places. Blogs, news sites, forums and just following whatever strikes your fancy. I find that when I have a hard time coming up with something fresh, if I just relax and read for awhile something pops up to catch my interest.

Yeah, I figured it was a $ - just thought you might not be talking in dollars but other currency! No biggie! BUt, yes, proof reading is something that I do several times. Mainly for my typos! But I have a list of places (like the magazines in the doctors office... at the grocery store) and thingsl ike that but have not been sucessful in making any of them work for me! Nothing seems to ring any bells for me. Guess they took out the bells and whistles when they did my brain surgery!

I write too for AC and I'm learning as I write,. I have found a very good article on that aspect. It is written by jcorn at AC. Perhaps you can visit the site and search for it there. I forgot the URL. He writes a lot about many things which are very inspiration and informative. I've learned some tips from him. From what I understand, you could use the first paragraph of your article as the "come-on", it worked for writers there. Good luck with your writing, we can link and help each other out. happy new year.

I"ll look. I have heard that the first 2-3 sentences are the "come on" If you don't have a reader by then, they probably won't stay.

The 64 thousand dollar question... I have writer's block and SEO troubles too. I've been with AC for three years as well, started my fourth year in August and my writing comes in spurts. I watch the CFCs and I also get calls from another site that I gave up on writing for but I keep getting the calls for inspiration, but still nothing. All I can suggest is ask other people what they want to read. This is something I got off the forums. Ask friends and family, colleagues what they have tried searching for and not found what they needed. Then go from there. But thanks for bringing this up. I would like to see other's suggestions as well.

Yeah, I do all that too looking for ideas. Even here on mylot - if there is something interesting comes through the pipe but so far it hasn't ...at least for me! I do hope I can get some suggestions!

Thanks for starting this thread. I am new at AC, so the info that has been provided so far will be helpful for my development on that site. I'm going to add this thread to my favorites list so I can find it more readily than my responded threads, and hopefully find out more ideas.

Glad my problems could help someone else! I have been working on AC for 3 years now and still, this discussion has given me several new and good ideas and things to work with. And I think I can apply them to my blogs and Squido articles too! MyLot is a great information source!
