Does it frustrate you when...

You post a discussion asking people's opinions on something and you get responses that say "I don't do this so I don't have an opinion." To me, this kind of falls into the "Me too!" category of what not to do according to the discussion guidelines. But lately I've been getting this answer a lot. And from different people.
I am not the type of person to report people for going against guidelines unless I see them doing it habitually or if it affects me negatively and directly. But this "I don't have an opinion." response is getting so frustrating that I am ready to report everyone who does it. Does anyone else have this frustration repeatedly? Did you report the offenders (a simple yes or no is fine, no need to name names)?

That´s what happens when a website pays per post. Community is contaminated by greedy individuals who only think in make an easy buck. In my opinion, Mylot could become an amazaing place where making friends, learning new things and resolving all kind of doubts. But we all must fight against spam to get it.

I just saw a terrific example of this. There is a discussion in the Harry Potter section asking when the Half-Blood Prince movie is going to be released (which is probably the 8th discussion of its kind but that's a different complaint for a different day). And someone of a very high rank (5000 and some) responded by saying I haven't read any of the books or seen the movies. How is that participating in the conversation?! That's interjecting with useless information. That's like joining a conversation about .... I don't even have a valid analogy.
In a completely unrelated thought.... MyLot really should allow us to respond to our own discussions so when I have a thought like this I can just tack it onto the end rather than have to pick some random contributor and add a comment to their response. You can do it in other forums.

I don't like it when people answer in one liners unless that's exactly what I expected - so I guess I don't like it when responses don't live up to my expectations LOL I don't report offenders unless their posting scams. Although I've never really received an "I don't have an opinion" response - I think actually posting that is a waste of time and it should really be considered as cheating the myLot system. That's like responding for the sake of it and not to share.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Those kind of responses really bug me.If you do not know about the subject and if it is not related to you the best thing to do is to keep quiet.I don't understand what point these people are trying to prove by saying I don't know,I don't do that,.Can't they use the precious time spent on these responses to some other useful ones they know of.May be they think that anything the type will bring them some dollars.

I don't like when it happen. In case like this I may just ignore the person.
Few years ago some people used to answer with short yes, no, I don't know...
I only report very rude people. Other people may quit anyway.

To me, it's really frustrating because mylot is a website for discussion. So, I would expect better responses so that I could give out my opinion in a discussion. Futhermore, a discussion is where we gather all opinion that we could get and choose the best one.

I have seen them but have never reported any of them so far because I believe they will eventually be caught. I think they are under a misguided understanding that posting any type of response will earn them money. At least one of them has admitted he/she has a goal to achieve, and that is reaching the 1000 posting mark. Responses like that do sometimes irritate me because I prefer a proper discussion.
all the best,
