Art Promotion / Selling

Hello! I've already posted something similar to this in the Listening to Music section but I thought I'd ask the artists too. How do you guys sell your art? A family member of mine is a painter and is trying to sell his work now that he has a good inventory of unique pieces...do you just approach gallery owners trying to get a showing or something? Or have you joined some sort of distributor or something? Any input/advice would be very helpful! Thanks a bunch! Brian

Cat In The Window - This is one of my original oil paintings.
I mostly sell my art online like at auction sites like eBay, ArtByUs and Comic Art Community. I also have websites for the different kinds of art I do.

I do some painting.....am also an author....I travel around to art shows and festivals selling my artist things. It's a good way to have tons of people look at them and I do sell items too...
