What a shame! I didn't read much in 2008! What about you? How many books have you read? Were they good?

Unfortunately i haven't read much either. I was too busy with school work and such and recently had a 2 week vacation. Plus i have my laptop in front of me i keep thinking of surfing the web rather than read my book even though i like reading very much. I foresee it would be the same for 2009 unfortunately - rinse and repeat. Although I just bought 3 novels online. They are second hand so very cheap and they are books i've been looking for. Can't wait to get started on them.

Hello wondericequeen, Same here. I think I can count with one hand, maybe. I really had no time to read and really forgot about reading last year. I hope it will be better this year.

Hi there Wonder Ice Queen. I am glad to say that i read more in 2008 if compared with 2007. In 2007 i know for sure i read just 4-5 books, but in 2008 i read quite a few. I don't know the exact number but i know it was at least double if not triple from the previous year. My favorites were the ones i read written by Sophie Kinsella - she has a very good humorous characters.

I would say based on my record on goodreads.com around 80 books this year. Most of the books I consumed are paranormal romance novels. Some major stand outs include Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series, Karen Marie Moning's Highlander and Fever series, Nora Robert's Circle Trilogy, In the Garden Trilogy and Sign of Seven trilogy, Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series, Alexis Morgan Paladin's series, Robin T. Popp's Nightslayer series, Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series, just to name a few. I can't remember everything but I definitely read a lot of books last year, and will probably read more this coming year.

Can't remember how many, but it wasn't much. I started reading about 4 or 5 books but didn't finish any of them. (Well, I've still got a few days left until the end of the year, so there's still hope...) Most recently I started reading the book Q&A, which the current movie Slumdog Millionaire is based on. It's pretty funny and a good read, but also sad at times. I plan to finish the book and then see the movie while it's still in the theaters.

since i will give an honest answer to your query, i feel that it is a zero. i wonder if that sounds shameful to you. but, in all honesty, i have stopped reading books years ago. i have gotten so busy with so many things, had my hands really full. then, add up to that the truth that although i feel like reading some books once in a while, i am forced to put it aside because, my eyes are already failing me somehow. if there are some verses in the bible that i want to be refreshed with, i have to request anyone of my sons to read it for me. that's how bad it is for me these last few years. i hope that i'd get back those eyes that can clearly read those small lettered reading materials.

I read an awful lot of stuff on the internet, but not much fiction. Well, it is not on my list of things to do for 2009 either. I read an awful lot of fiction in college, assigned and otherwise, and was in college an awful long time, so now I mostly read how to do stuff, like books on gardening and other activities. It is amazing how much I don't know about plants!

Hi, I don't think I read more than 15 books in 2008, unfortunately. But I did read a few excellent books! I am fully aware that what I consider to be an excellent book, might be frowned upon by someone else. I think the phrase, "different strokes for different folks" applies here. However, I do recommend the book, "The Memory Keeper's Daughter." Thanks for starting this discussion. :)

I can't think of any book i read this year. I have a problem with my concentration, so reading a book is a real frustration for me.

I really don't like reading books. I am a visual learner, so I get most of my reading done on the internet.

Well, I have not been reading a lot of book just lately. In fact I cannot recall any book that I have read except one. An inspirational book entitled "The Present". Though I have read a lot of handbooks for my safety training. I actually conduct safety courses and for me to be updated, I need to read the handbooks.
