Sachin has scored 16422 runs so far in ODI cricket. His immediate competitor Jayasuriya has just 12785 runs, about 3500 runs lesser than Sachin. The next one, who is still playing, is Ponting and he has just 11113 runs, more than 5000 runs behind Sachin. So, it is clear that Sachin's record will be intact for a few more years. Probably another 5 years or more, considering the fact that Sachin could at least add another thousand to two thousand runs to his tally. But, every record is there to be broken. I am sure someone will come by to break Sachin's record. When it will happen? Only time will say. Thanks.

firstly a correction sachin has scored more than 16000 runs in ODI's and secondly i dont feel anyone can beat his record in one day internationals specially given the fact most of his nearest competitors like jayasurya, ponting have at max 2years of cricket more in them and they are still way behind him in terms of runs scored and of the current lot of players i really dont think anyone has the calibre and time to surpass him in ODI's.

yup he had scored more than 16,ooo runs in the ODI format but i believe no one can beat that record.first,i dont think any other player in the future will be playing consistently for 2 decades because all he needs is a bad series and it will take him another 2 years to get into the team again.secondly, during tendulkar era, there are not much 20 20 matches but with IPL and t 20 international matches increasing everyday, the boards have not much choice but to reduce the number of ODI matches or test matches to accommodate 20 over cricket matches so in future you cant expect people to play 20 odd one day matches and you have to play atleast 400 matches to even come near his record but when you dont even cross 200 matches,it will remain intact for more than 3 decades.happy lotting

Oh buddy! Sachin scored 16422 runs in one day international, not just 12k+, well every record is meant to beat. I am sure that some one will definitely beat his record. But i really needs a huge effort from the one to beat his achievement! Cheers and regards, forcashksd Happy mylotting :)

Not in the near future. But after some years somebody(probably from the Indian team) would beat the score

I do not think so. There is no limit which cannot be crossed. Another batsman will come at some point of time in the future, who will surely beat the records set by Sachin. It may take some time, but it will happen. When Bradman scored his runs and later when Gavaskar scored his centuries, they looked hard to beat but Sachin came. So someday, Sachin's records will also be beaten, I have no doubt.

it is very tough and almost not possible for 99 percentage the main reasons is the amount of criket he played and for almost 20 years is not possible by cricketers of current trend
