I can't believe this mom said this to her kid!??!?!?!

I was in Wal-Mart the other day, waiting in line, and this lady says to her little girl "See that man over there? If you don't start behaving, I'm going to have him take you away?" I think its just plain wrong to lie to your kids. Thoughts?

for me, that is a wrong kind of discipline. Threatening a kid to be given to people just because they misbehave is not proper. Why not tell them the eight thing to do? They just need proper guidance and advice on how to behave well in the public or wherever they are. Parents should set good examples to their children on how to behave properly and the kids would just follow without being to to do so,

I am shocked at this. How to scare a little girl like that, but on the other hand if the girl is being abused physically at home she may want to go with "that man". I can see this little girl becoming so afraid of men as she is growing up, afraid they will kidnap her from her mother. Why do parents do such a things?
