For christmas my friend got me one of these because I have been wanting to find one and I love making my homemade pizzas. Well the other day I decided to whip that bad boy out and whip up a pizza. Everything was going fine I even read the instructions on the bottom of the stone, but it did nto say anything about coating the stone with a spray or oil....so I didn't do any of that I just went ahead and put my pizza dough on a baked it a couple of minuts like I always do with the pizza pan and then did the rest (toppings and all) and popped it back in the oven. Well I think I may have done something wrong, because when I took the pizza out...and it was baked. It stuck to the pizza stone. I looked on the box and it had no istrucitons or tips on it at all. So I have a question for you Pizza stone owners out there....Just what did I do wrong. Can you not use this for homemade pizzas? Or are you supposed to coat the stone with something before you place it on the stone?

I think that what my mother in law has is a pizza stone, but that's beside the point.. I did find a link that I hope will be helpful, indefinitely you need to preheat the stone http://www.recipepizza.com/pizza_stone.htm This isn't a referral link so don't worry about that.

I'm so glad that the instructions helped. I know it's crazy how some things don't come with good instructions.
