Hi all in mylot, I am from India and the name of currency of my country is Rupee.if i use 'Rs' as the unit of currency it will not be understood by many, as it is not as well known as currencies like us-dollar, pound, yen, franc etc. and more than one country has 'rupee' as currency. I want to use the abbreviated form INR for Indian National Rupee. i am not sure how many people here from other countries will understand what i want to mean. What is your opinion? Are you familiar with the term - INR? Can i use it to express my currency?

Hello arkadeb. I know that India uses Indian Rupee, but if I were asked about the abbreviation, I were afraid that I did not know about it without knowing the full form first. Now I think that I know its abbreviation when reading INR again next time. So there is no problem for you to use it to express your currency because I know it now. Thank you for the knowledge and discussion.

Then my presumption that the abbreviation is not commonly known - is correct. Whenever i will use the term i have to give the full form. This knowledge is helpful.
Thanks a lot and happy new year friend
