Please help on Wireless acronym

I have searched for information wanted using various search engines but failed to find any answer. I hope someone here can help me on this matter. I have an Aztech wireless router at home. Due to several inconsiderate neighbours I have set up a firewall so that they could not access the Internet. One stubborn neighnour keeps on trying several times in a week and twice today. What I want to know is what does STA-AUTH next to his/her MAC means? I know that STA stands for station but the combination with AUTH has me worried. This is because the other wireless stations have STA-ASSOC. What is the person trying to do now (he/she is still connected)? Thanking you in advance.
