What do you feel about the free hugs campaign? / myLot

I've heard a lot about people going around with free hugs placards. I feel its a very noble campaign. We all need a hug sometimes and can feel shy to ask for one from a friend(esp true for guys). A bug hug can be rather relaxing at such a time. Although I doubt such a thing would find momentum in India. Shiv Sena would immediately embark on an anti-free hugs campaign. The media would give it wide open coverage and the person would become shy. What do you feel about the free hugs campaign?

well,i like free smile better. when i'm a student in university,some student arises this movement.they smiled every time when they met sb,stranger also.and i like this.this make feel happy.

I think its okay, but I'll definitely be more comfortable hugging someone that I know.

I think it's strange. Yes noble and relaxing and good for society and all, but for me it would be very strange to get hugged by strangers. I'd ask my friends (actually, we do are regular huggers :-D). It might be strange in some friend groups, especially for guys as you said, but I think it's still more strange to ask a complete stranger! Besides, we don't ask for hugs, it comes naturally :-)

I find a hug more comforting than a smile. With a stranger, you can hug and leave. No holds barred. You don't need to tell them ur problems. With a friend, if u have a problem that you can't share(and don't give me the nonsense that you can share everything with ur friends)
