All different, but yet the same

My husband and I just joined a gym. We are both in ok shape, but wanted to get into better shape. We got to the gym about 5:30 this morning and I was surprised to see so many people there working out. There were so many different people there...People who were in great shape...some who weren't in such great shape...young and old...male and female...and even a handicapped person. So many different people all there for the same reason. I was pretty amazed! Do you exercise? Do you go to a gym or work out at home? If you don't work out, have you been thinking about it and what stops you from doing it? Rhonda

That's great to hear. I don't work out, I should and would like to but I could never quite stomach the thought of going to a gym. I always picture all these Mr./Mrs. Universe types who would just laugh at or possibly crush me. I know it's not really like that, it's just my own insecurities, but I still don't think the gym is for me.

hello, jesssp. it is not that difficult to get indulge in some workouts at all. if you honestly believe that the gym is not for you, just get hold of a copy of a workout dvd. then, you can do some exercising in your very own private moments. i have some copies of jane fonda's workout, a yoga for amateurs/newbies/beginners, tae bo, etc. you will really sweat it out with the routines that you will just be doing with them through video. the routines are very easy to do, don't worry.

Thanx for the encouragement! I think we're going to get a Wii Fit and I'll start out with that.

I felt a little intimidated at first not knowing how to work some of the machines. My husband worked with me and now I feel pretty secure by myself. We've been staying on our schedule and I'm starting to see a little difference now. I'm so excited! Thanks for stopping by and sharing with me! Rhonda

my children and i, we used to go to a gym before. until the time came that we decided that we waste so much time doing so. instead, we started buying some items which we will need for the basics of working out. until now, we are doing the exercises at home at our own pace. we find this setup to be ok with no time wasted for preparations and travel to and from the gym from home.

Sounds like for you that might be easier. For us going to the gym isn't as hard. It's just the two of us and we are only 5 minutes away. Best of luck with your workouts! Rhonda
