Do you currently work on holidays and weekends and do you enjoy doing so ?.What is your reason for doing so ,is it the money or that you need something to occupy your time ?.Or do you have a firm policy against working during these times because you think you work enough during the week and these are your times to rest and do household chores ? .If you actually work during these times ,do you actually work every weekend or consecutively ? Tell us about your policy regarding this issue ?

i think working on weekends and holidays is a good idea, if you dont have anything else to do then you can spend your time earning some money.

i don't work anymore due to bad health. when i was working at a convenience stoe [it was a 2nd job] i had to work most holidays. didn't like to but needed the money the job brought in. you do what u have to do to pay the bills & raise kids by yourself.

Hi There! Right now, my rest days are always Saturday and Sunday since I am in a transition period in my new work. However, since we are 24/7 support, it requires me to work on holidays… In fact, I am in the office right now until 10 in the evening. I just hope that we will be able to go home on time to be with our loved ones… anyways, I don’t really like working on weekends… because for me weekends are for family and friends, you know, time for gimmicks… lolz… but I get used to it since I am working as a 24/7 helpdesk here… Goodluck! Thanks for the discussion! Happy New Year and Happy HOlidays! Cheers!

I don't like to work on holidays or weekends. I want to take rest on holidays and spend time with my family, also watching tv.

I enjoy working on weekends and holidays, because at this period of my life this is the most valuable way how I can spend my weekends and holidays. But in general: no, it should not be like this. People have to take a rest on weekends. And work during working days and hours. How about You? Have You worked on holidays? Do You still work in weekends? Is it good?

I don't like to work weekends. One of the reasons is because my husband is off on weekends and I enjoy spending time with him. Right now I am working a job that I am off of weekends. I try to find jobs when I am looking that leave my weekends free. Over the years I have worked on weekends on some of the jobs that I have had but even at that I have only worked jobs that I have every other weekend off. There are jobs that the weekends are a requirement to be able to work. Those are the jobs anymore that I stir away from.

Yes, I work on holidays and weekends. It's fine with me, but what I don't like is going home late because my shift ends at 10pm. I can't go out with my friends anymore, unlike before that my shift ends at 4pm. Now, after working, I just go home and feel really tired of doing anything else, I just sleep.

I think working on holidays and weekends is a shame really because I feel that time should be spent with family and friends.

I dont mind working on holidays. Our organization offers premium for working on holidays. The only downside is that you miss on important events (family reunion, etc) during holiday season.
