Do you marinade your steak? If so, what do you marinade with? I use Italian dressing, and soy sauce. If not, what do you do to your steak before cooking? I prefer grilling but will pan fry in cast iron. What is your method?

We use a teriaki marinade called Yoshida's. It is the best. Then we grill our steaks. We have both an ourdoor and an indoor grill, so no matter what the weather is we can still grill. I love teriaki steak. Hubby prefers to marinade in bbq sometimes. I never thought of italian dressing for steak, although I have used it on chicken. I bet that is yummy too.

Yes i do marinate my steak but only a salt and pepper sprinkles on it. Then leave a 5 minutes then cook in fry with salted butter. Boy, my husband loved my steak so much. By using salt and pepper the taste of the meats will tasty more.

To me, the best marinade is its own juice. I love the beef flavor and don't understand why people jazz it up with other things, just loosing that wonderful beef flavor!

I don't do anything to my steaks. I don't want the flavors of the meat covered up with some sauce. The only thing I ever do is salt, pepper, and maybe some garlic powder. There have been occassional times when I have smothered my steak with mushroom soup and then made gravy out of the remaining soup that is in the pan. But there is nothing else I want to put on steak.

Yes soy is one of mine as well. And then Teriyaki and then worcestershire. After I put that on and some garlic powder I put olive oil on so it dosen't burn on the edges or get to dark when the grill is to hot. Or I broil them in the broiler as I can't have fried foods as it turns out not good for me. You have a great day. And now I want steak after all the turkey we have had in the past month. I used to marinade my steaks with Allegro original or hickory. Lately though I have been buying some really good steaks and I just use Emiril's seasoning instead. I think if you buy cheap steaks you should marinate, but for better steaks stick with season. I don't want to sound like a snob here - you have have some delicious cheap steaks by marinading and I will still do that.

I like to use garlic and butter sauce. I do try different things but that has been my favorite. I also like to use lawrys salt and worschester sauce. Happy New Years!

We use Jack Daniel's marinade, the mesquite flavor. That's the only thing we'll ever use on steak, and will probably have to stop eating steak if they stop making that. We also grill it, we've never had it any other way.
