Teeter-Totter

A penguin and a platypus,
an ostrich and an otter,
went on down to the mountain top,
to ride the teeter-totter.
a teeter-totter is the same as a see-saw,
that's not to say it's a saw by the sea.....see?
it's just a board with handles to hold,
it's the thing in the middle, that really is the key.
up and down and up and down,
they drank their mushroom tea,
up and down and round and round,
they laughed out loud with glee.
with pointy teeth and scaly skin,
from the swamp came a real hater,
the four friends quickly ran away,
see you later alligator!

Sorry sconibear but you lost me the second you stated that they went "down" to the mountain top?? 
Including a platypus kept me reading on though and I also became very excited when I read they were drinking mushroom tea because I did that too in my youth and STILL get flashbacks. Did you compose this yourself or did Dr Seuss and Beatrix Potter have a love child?
