Hello I am new to this site, and I am a new mother. My daughter is almost three months old, and becoming more vibrant and awake every day. She now is able to grasp rattles and smiles at me a lot. It is so cute!! Although she still does take several cat naps per day, I really enjoy the time I have with here when she is awake. When they are newborns they sleep 18 plus hours a day, but it is fun to watch them sleep, and wonder what they could be dreaming about at such a young age. I would love to hear from other new moms, and working moms too to see what your experiences have been.

My advice to you is to enjoy every minute that you have with them. They grow up fast. Also stay involved in their lives. Keep them busy in activities. And remember do not put them first all the time because they grow up thinking the world revolves around them. Teach them that they are a small part of the world. But an important part. Teach her she can be anything she wants to be. And the most important thing is listen, listen, listen even when they are not talking to you. Im not saying to be nosey But children say things that let you see into their soles. And if you know thier sole you can help them to become a responsible and caring adult.

Congratulations on being a new mom. It is a wonderful gift. I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls. My oldest is 3 and my youngest is 19 months today. They are a handful but so worth it. Its wonderful to see life through their eyes even the littlest things. Yesterday I let my 19 month old stand in the shower for the first time and it was funny seeing how she reacted to the water falling down. Shes taking showers before but never got to really play in it. Just enjoy every minute of it. They grow up really fast. another good idea is to keep a journal of what they have been doing. Its something that they will have even when I am gone of what was going on in their life. Take lots of pictures and if you can take videos do it even for the little things. Its always fun to go back and look at them.

Congrats! Enjoy this time. They do grow up so fast. My children are grown, 22 & 19 years. When my daughter was born I could not see this far into the future. It seemed an eternity away form watching her sleep. You too will experience this strange feeling like the years somehow went by faster then the should have.

Congratulations on your blessing! My son is 7 months old, and was truly a blessing. I was told I could not have children...I went to the doc thinking I had gall stones...I was pregnant! ha ha Anyway, do treasure every moment. Soon, she will be moving around, sitting up, grabbing for things, reaching out for you, crying because you leave the room, and, as another poster said, loving peek a boo. It's the funniest thing. My son discovered it on his own. He will cover his face and wait patiently until you say, "Where's Dane?" He then excitedly pulls the cover down and laughs hysterically!

Hi! I'm also new to this site! It's really nice to know that you're a new mother! From your post, it's obvious that you are really excited and elated! Reading your post reminds me of a friend of mine who is also a new mother, gave birth to a daughter who is currently three months old too! She had a hard time conceiving, she tried ways and means for the past 7 years to have a baby of her own. This child of hers is really a miracle. I've seen her, and she's really adorable, I'm sure your baby girl is adorable too. Babies just have a way in creating happiness in everyone.

Congrats and as a mother of three all I can say is enjoy all the time you have with them. I have a senior in high school and I am just wondering where all of the years have gone. He will go away to college in August and life will never be the same again. Now I wonder if I could have spent more quality time with him and I hope he takes with him the many life lessons I have tried to instill in him.

welcome to mylot. I have only one child and he is 9yrs old now. I have almost forgotten what’s it like to have a baby at home. But yes it’s a joy to spend time with you child. I am also a working mother and I feel really bad to leave my baby and go to office. However, I have passed those years but they were really difficult. My in-laws helped me a lot to tide over things.

Hope you'll enjoy here and find answers your quiries from the suggestions, comments or replies from our dear mylotters. i'm a new mom too at 7 months (a little older than u ) it's really fund, though they sleep most of the time but watching while they sleep is more fun coz you'll see how they suddenly smile, frawn and sometimes you can see their gums showing up. once they cry i ran so fast as i can, it make us mom's go crazy. but wait more when they start to communicate with you. for now, enjoy every moment as this time it will not come again. have a wonderful day and happy new year

Well i might as well be a new mom in a sense because my son is 11 yrs old n my baby is due april but when i was a first time mom with my son wow i was so nervous about changing him dressing him bathing him i use to hear all the horror stories, but the best advice i got was that no mom is perfect an in all that you do with ur child do it out of love, never be afraid to ask questions and you will do just fine. My son use to do all kinds of things but i enjoyed most his cute curious actions of wanting to explore everything n how everything was so amazing to him but whatever or boring to us, i really think that having a little one brings out the best in parents n brings out the kid in us, they really help us to enjoy life and to actually live life the way we should by following their example an appreciating everything. when i was working as a single mom i hated it because i always wanted to stay home with him, right now as it looks im going to still be in school for 7 mths after my baby is born an yes i am kind of nervous im afraid i have forgotten some things, but i remember the advice i got. take pictures as often as you can especially of them doing different things, treasure every moment, document all new things, make a written an visual album with pictures n writings n their drawings an if you can video tape them because once they grow up there is no getting those moments back but with the documentation you will have memories tracked that will last a life time. i love when he started to speak an draw me pictures etc. CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI! reading your discussion made me recall the times when my girls were still babies.I really do treasure those times, they were so angelic when sleeping and I just can't take my eyes of them. Those were the times that they were really mine,I say mine because they were so dependent and my world just revolved around them.It was a choice then not to work but to be a stay-at-home mom to be a hands-on -mom too.Beinga new mom then was so difficult for me since I am so far away from my mother and sisters,I just can't asked help or reinforcement :-)Now,much as I want to tell them what to do to a certain situation or something,I just can't play a dictator, they have to decide. What we still enjoy doing now in connection from their early infancy and childhood days, they still do love to hear stories when they were still one.Congratulations for being a mom!

Having had more than one child, my experience has taught me that when they sleep, you sleep. Cherish this time of catnaps, because when kids stop taking those naps, it can be a very long day. So, yes, watch her peacefully sleep for a few. But, then, get some shut eye yourself ... while you still can.
