Would You Kill For Your Property?

Let's remove some hypos here: In Texas (and some other states), it's legal to use deadly force to protect yourself and your property. Let's not consider it's legality for this thread - just general principle. If you don't have kids, or are not married, don't make that part of your argument. Deal with what situation you're in. And I'm talking ultimately and up to: ie, if someone wants your $2 watch, odds are you might not kill over it. If someone is breaking into your home, that could be differnent. That's what I mean. So, ultimately, would you kill someone to defend your property? Breaking into your home? Jacking your car? If it came to it, I would. Break into my house? You're more than likely going to catch some lead. I have night vision goggles, so I wouldn't have to turn the lights on to give away my position, either.

Absolutely not. I would not kill for my property. My property isn't worth someone else's life. If someone broke into my house I would try to get a good look at them and call 911 on my cell phone and hide somewhere or run to the closest exit and try to get out of there. Overall my property isn't worth much of anything to me, it's just stuff, and if someone needs it that bad that's fine with me, but I'll do everything I can to make sure that they get the blame for it in court. Now, if someone tried to attack me, that might be a different story, although I can't see myself killing anyone on purpose, even if they were trying to kill me, I would probably just try to hurt them enough to take 'em down.

That's, of course, if you spot them before they spot and probably kill you.

If it's for the porperty, then no... Of course if someone breaks into my house & if it was the matter of protecting "myself" or not, then of course I'll kill to protect myself... I guess my "life" is concidered my "property" as well? I guess then I'll kill for one "property" which is my life... Everything else, I don't really care... Ultimately, every "things" can be replaced... Like you said, when I say things or "everything", I'm not concidering my kid or my girl friend but "things"... If someone was to set a fire to my house & if I was close enough to witness the person doing it, may be I would hurt him enough to hold him in place until the authorities get there so he gets the justice he derves but I wouldn't kill the person... I guess it all comes down to the fact that I wouldn't take anyone's life unless it is to protect someone's life, including my own... I do believe randomly killing, or trying to kill, someone is different than killing in the name of "defence"...

By the way, just for the record, I definitely would turn on the light... One shot of 50 caliber desert eagle would stop just about anybody weather the person knows where I am or not... 2 would definitely put a person in agonizing pain for a while weather the person is wearing some sort of protective gear... And that's after being knocked back about 15 - 25 feet from the first shot...
