Due to my work schedule and an out of town wedding this weekend I will not be able to get my tree down until next monday....and I will also clean good when I do it including shampooing my carpets! I usually do it when I put the tree up but this year time got away from me so I was running a bit behind....it will be nice to have it put away and the house back to normal!

Oh yes that will be nice. I asked my roommate to take down the lights he said no he was not climbing up on a chair and taking them down just to put them back up in 11 months now I have been cleaning all day. And not a happy person I told him that is ok I will just unplug them and pull as they are put up with them velcrow things. He is taking then down. I guess I mite have scared him just a bit. I wouldn't of done it. but if he thinks so fine by me they are coming down. Got to love them. Your friend onlydia

I'm lagging this year. Like yourself, most years the tree gets taken down before New Years but this year we were on vacation during Christmas so we decided to leave it up until after the new year.

See now that is different. My one Boss didn't even put one up as he was gone on a cruise so just packed and left on the 20th of dec. So they didn't even put there's up this year. I'm almost done. Will be glad to have my space back. As my house is small Had to put chair in porch until Christmas was over. You have a great day and a happy New Year.

My tree and decorations are all still up. I haven't had time to take them down yet but plan to on the day after New Year's. I work New Year's day so that is the only convenient time for me.

Yes that was me last year. We even worked if wanted to on Christmas. I didn't as my Mom was here. This year we are closed for 1 1/2 weeks and only get paid for 4 day's. The rest is unpaid. So I know all about that one. But this year I have the time. So it will all be down tonight. Have a great day/night.

We taken our outdoor decorations down already, since we've had some warm weather and it's easier while it's warm. The indoor decorations we usually leave up at least until after Jan 6th, which is the 12th day of Christmas. I don't usually do much cleaning until school starts back up. With kids home it always looks like a tornado landed. At least that sounds like a good excuse, right?

That is right a very good reason. Mine is 18 and works is out of school you know taking a year off before collage. And that is looking better to him every month every time I tell him rent is due. If he went to collage he could live here free if not you have to pay rent and help buy food. OK it is only $150.00 or $100.00 a month but you have to do something. So mine Are almost down. Have to sweep one more time as making them move the furniture. Have a Happy New Year. Your friend onlydia

I'm a huge advocate of kids taking a year off between high school and eithr college or other tech school. I gives them a chance to think about what they want to do, and they become more serious about it. Good for him, and good for you too!

Thank you as I was starting to have my douts as my girlfriend was telling me your making a huge mistake. I told how am I. I'm not the one not going or going. And I'm not forcing him into something he will regret. I smiled nice and then said you know like you. Ok I couldn't help it. Been to school for different things and doesn't do what she went to school for. So thank you. Now I feel better. Happy new year.

Yes, we took ours down last night and placed it back into the box. I guess we will get it up into the attic before the new year comes in. We always take our tree down before the New Year comes in.

Yes me also. As I was raised you have to bring in the New Year with all that is new. My Mom sort of alway's broke that one after my greatgrandmother passed on. As she loves Christmas and won't let no one touch her dec. but her. I liked that part she could of left them up all year as long as I didn't have to do it. But I'm not like that. Get it down and put away. Help is my way. Have a good day

My tree is still up and will probably stay up until this weekend. I'm really sad to see it go because it's so pretty. It's still a happy new year around here and the tree is a part of the new years happiness. It is a good ideal to clean the house for the new year, we usually do that also. Our carpet needs a good steam cleaning after my son and other people dropping eggnogg and other types of drinks on the rug. I'm glad I have a steam cleaner to tidy up this yuck of a rug. Happy New Year Dia!

Yes mine didn't take to long once my roommate got home. He didn't want to finish taking it down. He tried you have to take the dec. off. I looked at him and laughed and pointed to the plastic cont. and said all done but the lights and the tree. The tree is like 6 feet tall and I'm 5"4 well, I mite be 5"3 now. But what can you do. He can't let go of the lights he is like a kid. Well, they are now down as well. Clean living room nice. you have a great day. Take it slow and steady like I did you know take some down come on mylot and have a cup of coffee.Have a great day.

It was almost 70 degrees here Saturday so I went outside with hubby and we took all of the decorations down and put them up in the attic. I figured since I was already in full swing the tree should go too so it's in the attic already. If I can finish getting the house cleaned tomorrow then I can ring in the New year with a clean house! LOL Happy New Year To You and Your family!

We'll wait until AFTER you have it all fixed up before we call for help! LOL Hero is doing great. He is outside running and playing in the snow like nothing ever happened. The boy and his mom & dad joined us for Christmas Eve dinner. A nice friendship has developed from all of this. Hubby is in his glory as he and the boys dad took the boy hunting Christmas eve! I just cringed as they walked out the door! LOL But all turned out well. And now the cold weather has moved back in. Hero and his mom are happy about that but not me! LOL

If I had been working like last year mine would of been up as well, as this year they gave us 1 1/2 weeks off with and with out pay. We got paid for the holidays but the other days we didn't. So here I sat and looked around and went well, this year before the 31st it will be down. You have a ggod day.
