It's an "Old" Movie, But Have You Seen "The Contender"?

I've been catching up on a lot of older movies I somehow missed on HBO and other TV stations as well as on DVD and I just watched "The Contender" starring Joan Allen and Jeff Bridges the other night and I really liked it a lot. It was about a female Senator being appointed Vice President after the V.P. passes away and all she goes through trying to get confirmed. Although it was released in 2000 I thought it to be really timely today given all the allegations of sexism during the 2008 campaign. Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin have no idea what sexism is compared to what they did to this poor woman!
Did anyone else see this movie and if so, what did you think of it? I loved how at the end they put "For Our Daughters" on the screen.

I have not seen this movie but I just ordered it from Netflix. It has an unbelievably good cast so I am looking forward to seeing it.

I don't believe that I have seen "The Contender", I'll have to check it out. We dropped cable and the small dish satellite system and have subscribed to Netflix. They have a new system that provides over 20,000 movies on streaming video so you can watch all you want on your computer. I got tired of the same old stuff and since the election is over, I no longer need CNN or MSNBC.. So maybe I can watch "The Contender" on streaming video.
