http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09073.html apparently they had 2 snow globes catch things on fire when the sun hit the glass of them and was magnified onto something combustible!! for one i thought it was common sense that glass magnifies sunlight and heat to where they wouldnt put it near things but i guess not!! could you imagine spending 100 bucks on a snow globe and then something near it burst into flames?!?! anyways the website has instructions on how to get a refund if you have them.. i guess nothing is safe anymore!!

More than likely these were made to act as lenses to magnify the scene inside. When the light hit it the right way POOF.

Probably made in China land of the skyscrapers in a very tectonically active area. I think they're secretly trying to kill their own people off & we're just ending up with some of the spare products.

Reminds me of the story about the woman who sued the RV company for compensation cos she thought the cruise control was auto pilot for the car. So when she left her seat after setting the cruise control on to make herself a cup of coffee, the RV, being driverless, naturally drove itself off the road. But there are also reports that the above mention is bogus. I am not sure. I guess when people know that they did not exercise their common sense, they will turn to the legal route to see if they can justify their stupid acts. The laughable part of this is, there are laws that do justify their stupid acts to the detriment of the people who did not commit the stupid acts!
