A Writer's Calling

A few words may be worth more. More may be worth less. Yet in a writer's world, it is not the number of words put on paper but the desire and need to pour ones thoughts and feelings into that endless stream of literature. As a writer, myself, I always feel a heady sense of freedom in my work that could often be quite overwhelming. Through the mundane and uneventful moments, it is a comfort to write. During the fun and excitement, writing reinforces the moment. In times of pain and despair, writing soothes and lightens the burden. Why do you think this is so? Could writing then be compared to a silent friend --- one who listens and understands?
