Count down... the closer it gets, the more often you watch the clock

And did you know that this is psychologically determined? When we are waiting for the bus we are looking more and more frequent on the clock when it's allmost time. If we learn a rat an event is coming up (for example feed them every day at the same time) it will come looking at the same spot it is fed more and more when the exact time gets closer. Do you do this with new years as well, counting down to the new year? If you pay attention you'll notice basicly everyone does this. It's rather funny . Have a great new years and all the best wishes for 2009!

Hi Cyberfluff, I guess we all do it whether we realise we are or not. You have a wonderful New Years Eve. Huggles. Ellie :D

Thank you so much, Ellie. I hope your evening has been great! I am sure we do this also, but not realise we do this half of the time. So I tried it once and I realised I watch the clock more often in the last 3 minutes when my train is about to arrive, curious isn't it? Have a great day!

Thank you so much, Ronaldinu. I wish you all the best for 2009 aswell. Just for the record: have you ever experienced what I have described in my thread? I am curious to find out how many people do, as it is said to have been scientifically proven. Thanks!
