Why do they call it the funny bone?

for other people's benefit. i know my brother laughs every time i whack my elbow i'm glad he finds it amusing..

i don't think that it is funny.. and also don't know about funny bone..?? bathroom is not safe.. for dancing.. you should take care during bath.. there are so many people face accident in the bathroom,, have a nice day..

I've wondered the exact same thing but I could never figure it out. However after talking to some people about the funny bone and the accidents that happen, we've pretty much determined that the funny bone is called the funny bone because people tend to laugh at you once you've hit it. You're standing there in pain and the only thing they can do is point and laugh.

My theory is because if anyone is around when it happens, they all think it is very funny.

hi beautyqueen...i've often wondered and so have others. my guess is that you feel a reaction unlike any other bone that gets knocked. thus it's a funny feeling. not meaning in humor but meaning funny-strange. and yes it most certainly can hurt.
