Once you have given up a bad habit do you pick up another one?

I know friends who used to smoke and they often say that once they have given up that habit, they often find themselves picking up weight and start becoming obese. I have the habit of drinking Dr. Pepper, once I gave it up and I picked up coffee. I am slowing giving up the coffee, but I know that every time I give up caffeine period, I get terrible headaches. What about you, have you given up a supposedly bad health habit only to pick up another one (details please)?

I have gave up caffeine in most of my drinks, coffee and cokes but that is about all that I have gave up, everything else is fair game.. I never had the first headache when changing from caffeinated coffee to the decaf, guess I was lucky..

Although is may say decaf, there is still caffeine in it, so I've been told. They just take the potency out of it so that it's not quite as noticeable. I'm working on the sodas now, we are about to go on a month long fast starting Monday, Jan. 5th with our church, so we'll see. We going to be only drinking water, and only eating fruits, nuts and vegetables. It's going to be interesting to see how long we can pull this one off. We've pretty much have been able to do all of the radical fast challenges in times past, it's very interesting to see how this one turn's out. Happy New Year.

I made it with flying colors and guess what I haven't even had a sip of coffee and haven't had an truly wanted one since the fast, and we are officially off the fast now.

Hello hdjohnson! I am the kind of person who when giving up a bad habit would try my very best not to pick another one. When people wish to change, they should change for the better. It is not a valid excuse to pick another bad habit just because they have given up one. Yeah, it's harder said than done. But we can all do our very best to give up all our bad habits and be the best we can be. Happy New Year!
