UK or USA accent, which one do you prefer, why? If you are a native UK or USA citizen, it may sound like a question with obvious answers, but as a non-native speaker, I was trapped in the USA English world, movies produced by US, textbooks written by US experts, US English accent is everywhere. someone told me US English is easy to pronounce and bears a sweet sound. However, in two days' time, I'll be a temporary interpreter working for some UK teachers, and i guess it will be a tough job for me.

That's not a simple question. Within both the British and American dialects there are many different regional accents. For instance, I'm from Manchester in the North of England. Someone from Liverpool (only a few miles away) has a very different accent from mine. Same thing for a Scotsman, Welshman, Ulsterman, Manxman etc. And of course America also has its fair share of regional accents. In the end, it doesn't matter as long as you speak clearly, people won't have any trouble understanding you.

Nice to see a comment from a friend from Manchester, thanks for sharing your ideas with me. according to what my boss told me, some of my guests are from Wales and Scotland, my concern is that if they have a strong accent, i may have difficulty in understanding them, anyway, i can make sure that i speak in a clear way, so I hope we have no trouble in communicating with each other.

Will your guests have any accent preferences? I don't think they will demand any from you. Just be who you are. Share your expertise and what you have learned. For sure you will be fine. They trust you for who you are and what you have learned that is why they have chosen you to do the task. So I think you need not get yourfelf into confusion of which accent you should be using. English may it be UK or US accent is still English. I have seen americans and brits talk and they don't seem to have problems with understanding each other. And so you're good to go. Happy new year!!!

I like the American accent. It sounds more modern.
