I have a kid. I want her to be good in sports. What is the best way to encourage children to take up sport?

You should check out any local sports programs for children. All of my kids started in sports when they were little. I never forced them to play, but I did encourage them. I would say ~ Cool, they are having soccer signups. Wouldn't it be fun to learn how to play soccer with all your friends? And they always said yes. As they got older, they chose the sports that they were interested in. Regardless of the cost ( and they can be very pricey) I always enabled my child to play the sports they chose. Now I have a son who plays football and wrestles, a son who plays football, basketball and track, and a daughter who plays basketball and soccer. We are running like crazy all year long, but it is so good for them to stay active.

Its really good to know that you want your child to take up sports..Always encourage her to participate right from the school days only...You can also buy her a ball, some toys of her liking...Always appreciate your child when he/she does well and never scold her when your child doesn't do that well..Cheers...!!

Hi Hellojam, happy new year to you and to your family. You have a nice question . I have a 4 year old kid and I have been observing him on what sports his interest will be in to. Like you, I also want him to be involve in sports and to be good at it. For the past month, I started to buy him toys for kids that are use in sports, examples of this are a basketball or soccer ball. I bought him a shuttlecock and a racket, even a miniature bowling set and billiard set. He is responding well and really likes basket ball and the bowling set. So I know that somehow he is interested on those two.
