Under garments.

Now days I read a lot in the entertainment section of the newspapers about the Hollywood stars and starlets' preference for the bra and the undies. Well people,I got, news for you, that in India almost 50% of the population do not wear the bra and as for as the undies are concerned I think only 10 to 20% of the population wear it. So this is not a big deal for us, but in spite of this fact some news papers regularly write about some Hollywood stars preferance for the under garments. What do you think of this?

There is also a small peoportion of Western women who don't wear either, my girl being one of them, plus several other girlfriends in the past. It's all marketing hype anyway. The main reason I can see why a woman would wear a bra would be because she is too well endowed to be comfortable without it. As for panties, who knows? Maybe they're all afraid they'll fall over and show their bits to all and sundry? Lash

Yes I can understand wearing one for support if a girl was really big but I find not wearing one much more comfortable. Although I do sometimes get looks of disapproval from other women for not wearing one. I am not supposed to be bothered by that though as I try very hard not to bother about what other people think. Still there are times when my mother's attitudes still sneak in. They were that women who did not wear bras or undies were wh*res. She made this sound like it was the most evil sort of thing a woman could be and it took me a long time to break it.

I absolutely HATE wearing bras. I'm sure they are invented by men. They are uncomfortable, and in the summer, they are hot! But, like someone else mentioned, certain people seem to disapprove of girls not wearing them. Some people in my church group used to give me a hard time about it.They were afraid it would cause the young men to "lust". Whatever. Now I only wear them when I really have to, like a shirt is tight or thin.

You are absolutely right grandpa_lash, if people in Western countries, who live in cold weather conditions are feeling uncomfortable wearing it, just imagine, wearing it is places like south India, where there is no such thing as winter. As for the panties, the maximum woman in India wear a saree or salwar kameez (which is something like a tight pant), so even if they fall down, nothing is lost.

I agree with you. Because India is having more villages comparatively cities. People who are living in villages are not interested in under garments. they are mainly concentrate on their daily life and work and food. It doesnt matter about under garments. In cities, people are likely to use under garments. and media affect is on them. May be in future in this global village, our village people too wear under garments.

Thanks for the response sandhya, but I agree with DJ_SLONE, that undergarments never came in the way of work. Basically it was in cold countries in Europe, that the wearing of undergarments came into vogue, as a means of keeping warm. But in a hot country like India, the undergarments are not going make much difference. Cheers.

Although I agree with you, I don't think under garments ever came in the way of concentrating on my daily life and work lol

p1kef1sh, now I am pretty confused, according to your profile page, you are a male from U.K., and I presume that you are talking about the undies.

Hi ramesh, I am not sure where you got this statistic of population not wearing Under-wear in India or any other country. Yes it may be the case if one is at his home. But If some one going out side I am sure he or she will be wearing all necessary under-garments . And B-ra is some thing which holds the b-r-east in shape. Its not a bad thing any way. Anyway this discussion was funny ha ha ha. Keep wring and have a nice day

Is that really ?? which magazine did such a stupid survey !! I don;t imagine some one going out without undies on. Anyways why should somebody get influenced by the inner wear of any hollywood star. I believe its a purely personal thing & the choice for it should also be personal.... Happy mylotting.

Udit, the article was not a survey, but a news from the entertainment section of the famous newspaper,The Times of India. Get real, I think you have not gone out of Bhuveneswar, go into the interiors of India, there you will see the people who have not even heard of the undergarments. There are a couple of places in South India, where even now, the woman do not wear blouses and they cover the upper part of the body with the pallav of the saree. Cheers.

I would just say that it probably depends on what the outer garments are lol. I don't like wearing jeans or anything whilst going commando, but if wearing khakis etc, it's cool to go without.

Nowadays jeans come in many materials, and I have heard that some designer has designed jeans in silk, so if it is going to be silk, just think of the cool silk on you without the undies.Hmmm

I live in India right now, and I bet the ones in India who don't wear bras and undies are the ones who wear saris. Am I right?

You win your bet, but it is not only the people who wear saris, but also the people who wear salwar kamiz also do not wear them. Since this dress itself gives them enough protection.
