New year's day is a holiday to most people. In some countries, there's no traveling on New year's day. No work and no roaming around. Most people stayed home because some of them have this superstitious that it is not good to go anywhere something might happen. LOL.. what about you? are you working on New year's day? Just want to hear your story.

Hello there my friend, lucky for me that I don't have a work on new years day. Actually i don't have to go to work for 2 weeks before Christmas since we had to have our vacation together with the students vacation. This is one of the advantages of working in a school and I really enjoy it. You are being paid without actually working but them i have to check papers during the holidays. Cheers!!!

Hello friend, yep I am teacher thankfully I am handling college students and it is not as tiresome as handling elementary and high school students for they are more mature in nature and the requirements for teachers in college is not as cumbersome. LOL. We had our prelim exams before the Christmas break and I did check the test papers to give them back to my students after the vacation. last two years ago i worked at a call center as a trainer and we have worked during the holiday we even have training classes for the new hires on new years day good i was out of the that workplace. LOL. Have a great day!!

New Year's Day has always been a holiday here in the Philippines. So...no work for me! I'm so glad that the holiday was even extended a bit more when the President declared the office works resumes January 5. I was really jumping with joy as I was really enjoying the holidays! But it was over! Now I am back in the office after the long holiday. Twelve days vacation is over and we are now back to work. As we wake up this morning, my hubby exclaimed "Back to reality!" I laughed as I replied "You mean, the vacation we had was just a dream?" "Yes", he said! "It was just a dream because it happened too quickly!" I agreed with him. The 12 days are not enough to fully enjoy the vacation. We want to go to many more places and do so many things but no more time left.

Hello Bebs. I don't work on the first day of the new year. Instead we have four days rest from December 31st to January 3rd. I enjoy myself a lot these days, but tomorrow we will work again after the holidays.

Well, most people who are working on holidays are getting double pay. I don;t know if your company where you work applied this policy. But most friends I know, they said when they work on holiday, they get paid doubled.

I do not have to go to work today. I have the next few days off because of the holiday. I return back to work on Monday. I will be enjoying the time off, getting things done around my house and spending time with the family.
