My daughters were very fond of watching horror shows on TV when they were small but wanted us to say awake and watch with them. We used to always make light of the horror shows and say that it is all jsut a joke and unreal so that they do tno get scared. I found my younger daughter lying down under the quilt with hir hands in front of her face and her fingers interlaced to form a web in front of her eyes as though she was watchig from the safety of a fencing.

My son just freaks out on ghost serials. He has a routine of 10pm to 11pm every Friday and Saturday on our local channels and every Tuesday its got to be The Haunted on Discovery. Since its just an hour show, I don’t mind really but the worst thing is that he’ll just start screaming and then expect and demand the entire house to sit beside him. And if everybody is busy (as is usual) its got to be trusted old mummy.

I always let my children watch horror movies. Like you we always explained and left it up to them if they wanted to watch it or not. They new it was unreal, but were still a bit scared (But arent we all?) LOL Thats the point of horror movies isnt it, to get scared. I know some parents thats dont let their children watch and thats perfectly fine. My kids like them.
