I don't understand him at all. He complain about things not being how he wanted it last year and instead of declaring prosperity in his life he woke up this morning playing Dancehall Music instead of starting the year with some Gospel music and blessing. I don't understand him at all. What do you start your day with. For me I pray two times giving God thanks for allowing me to see this year. Asking for his protection.

Kerri...We are all different. What may be good for you, may not be for someone else. I can understand the feeling you get by starting your day off with prayer and thanking God and I'm sure you want your father to share that same feeling with you. That's understandable. When we have a close relationship and love for our God, we want to shout from the roof tops and share it with everyone. We want them to feel the same way. Sometimes the best way to show this to people is not by what we say to them, but in the way we live our lives. By power of example. It's a quiet way to lead them where you are. Sometimes they see the love, joy and contentment in your life and they want the same. I'm not sure if your father is a Christian or not, but if he is, I'm sure him and God have their own way of working things out. I too start the morning off reading scripture, praying and drinking coffee! LOL! Rhonda

Rhonda, very well said. I will just add my 2ยข worth by adding that what ever the faith, or belief, in something bigger than ourselves, each of us have our own way of working things out between ourselves and that higher power. I consider myself to be a deeply spiritual person, and although I would not necessarily use the word prayer to describe what I do, (I have called it meditation) I think we're doing it for the same purpose, which is to connect ourselves with a higher spiritual being that will help guide us, and teach us to be the best people we can be. For me personally I think that's all that matters, is that you take time out, to take a deep breath, think about our lives and try to be the best person we can be. What ever means a person chooses to accomplish being the best person they can be, does not matter to me, as long as they're striving to do the best they can. I wish we could get past some of the semantics, or language games, and get back to the essence or the purpose for what I would call meditation and what you or another may call prayer. I believe, that until each one of us is willing to take personal responsibility for their own actions and how they behave on a daily basis, we will not be able to get over our grievances and politics, and see each other as all being one and the same. In my mind, this and another thread have a few similarities, as long as we are all trying to do our best and do right by one another, I would prefer we didn't get caught up in what we call it. Happy Mylotting and all the best for the new year.

Hey Kerriannc there is nothing wrong in playing dance music if he sets him in a good mood. As long as the music does not make him grumpy and gets on your nerves.

No ronaldinu there is nothing wrong. But what one should also remember is that what one declare in his/her life will be given. He wanted money and prosperity he should have declare it before playing these idiotic dancehall music. When things are not going the way he want it will be me who will have to bail him out and I will have to disappoint him this year. I need my goal to achieve as well.

Each to their own kerri! As long as it made him happy then that's all that matters yes? I start every day by going straight to a picture wall I have created that is full of pictures of things I wish to achieve. There are also a number of positive affirmations that I read to myself from there as well. I do not do anything else until I have gone over every item on that wall. Coffee and the rest of my morning routine comes after! Happy New Year.
