So yesterday I saw one of these voice warping toys and I decided to get it and give it to my son. This is the FUNNIEST thing ever. I mean who would think a cheapie little toy would be so entertaining?
Basically it's a recorder and then you can sound effect and warp and change the speed of the playback with some pretty hilarious results.
I used to buy these things for my brother when he was little, and we would annoy our dad with them. He would get to the point where he was fed up with it and take it away, but I (being the nice sister I am muahaha) would buy him another one! At one point I think he had 6 of them and we were regularly sneaking one off the top of the fridge when we needed to.
Granted, my son is not little any more, but heck, teenagers can come up with some pretty odd comments to voice warp. I release all responsibility for anything he says! At least if he puts it on high speed it can't be traced back to him because it sounds nothing like him. If you've ever seen 'neurotically yours' it sounds like the squirrel....

Hey mommyboo! I wouldn't mind having one of those for myself!
It sounds like it would be fun for anyone of any age! I'm
sure that I could have plenty of fun with some of my rather
crazy and silly friends for sure! What are they? And where
do I find them? I love silly little toys like that! Anything
for a little joke!

Oh... Those voice changing toys... "
Back in my day, we had things called YAKBAKs and they're totally ol'skool 30second voice recorders, they have revolutionized over times and developed to something else similar to a voice changer thing and eventually became obsolete.
My friend's got an optamous prime helmet that can change your voice, and I seen darth vader voice changer helmets in a costume store on halloween.
Funny, depends on how you use it.
Recieving a threatening phone call at night with some creep using it on the phone at 3 in the morning... Ummm... Not so much. O_O
Things can be fun and games when it is meant to be fun and games, but sometimes people can take it onto a whole different level.

My parents bought my kids something similar, much to my dismay. Our girls drove us nuts with it for the first few hours. Once, my parents had gone home, it got put on the highest shelf in the highest cupboard. We were not going to allow them to have it all the time.
I think for older kids and teens, they can be a neat toy. They can be used to enhance school visual/auio assignments etc.
