How will you stop smoking?

I have made the decision today to stop smoking. This is one of the goals I hope to achieve this year. I have been smoking for about 14 years and smoking that first cigarette 14 years ago was possibly one of the worse mistakes I have ever made. The good thing is that I'm still young and in relatively good health, but smoking has been one of the major drawbacks in my life. I've tried several times before to stop smoking, but with no real effort. This time, my resolve is concrete. So, I've decided to replace smoking with exercising, since I haven't been doing much of that either. How will stop smoking this year? And if you have already stopped, how did you do it. After 14 years, I need all the help I can get.

Very good way to start a new year in deed. Giving up smoking wont be easy if you leave it suddenly. What i can recommend is reduce it gradually , make a chart at home well as at work and keep the track of your progress. When you see numbers on paper it gives that additional boost in achiving this goal. My best wishes , Take care.

Good on you. You go for it. I applaud anyone who can make that kind of decision and stick to it. I'm a smoker so know how hard it can be. Why, I've even made a resolution to quit as well. Hopefully, I'll go ahead with it. And, you are right, about it being a mistake. If I could go back in time, that is the one thing I would not take up. Especially, knowing what I know now. You go hard and all the best. Happy New Year to you
