I just started my website dogdishstore.com and I wanted to find out from people what they use for a dog dish. I'd love it if you could submit your vote here! Thank you!

Always stainless steel. They're easy to clean and sanitize, they don't cause discoloration of the nose pigment (like plastic does) and they don't break like ceramic. I like ceramic dishes for their looks and because they're also easy to clean, but they are far too breakable. I've never used elevated dog dishes for any of my dogs. I have Siberian Huskies, and they don't seem to need it. Plus, I figure they aren't designed to eat things from elevated surfaces, they're designed to eat things from the ground, and thus far, no problems.

My dog has two dishes, plastic and metal- stainless stuff. Right now she's using the plastic. I bought it for her because it has a nice color and shaped into a bone.

Good luck with your store. I think the key for success would be variety. For example, my neighbor has a Kuvaz. I have a Great Dane/Boxer mix. The two dogs are about the same size. Her's eats standing up out of a raised dish. My dog however will only eat lying down. He puts one paw on each side and dives in. Though both dogs are about the same size they have different metabolisms. Hers gets 1 cup twice a day and mine gets 2 cups twice a day so he needs a bigger bowl. Hers eats out of a metal bowl, mine has a plain plastic one. I think though when I replace his I'll go for something cute or stylish. He only cares what's in it of course but for me it's a household fixture so why not upgrade!
