For me it depend, if it's a long distance relationship, I send a email, to say what I really feel and my reason to break up, and it's very hard I know to accept it. But if I am just near her, I will have the decency to break up with her face to face. How about you? Have a nice day to all of you!

Hi there!
The best way is to tell your significant other personally. It will give the closure that both needs in order to move on. But of course, like what you said, there are some instances when that couldn't be possible so an e-mail or even a phone call will be a good alternative just as long as you are straight to the point, do not attempt to sugar-coat everything, and say everything that you want to say and say sorry not for breaking up but for hurting her or him but that you're sure that he or she will prefer to be hurt by the truth than to be made happy by a lie.

Thank you very much for choosing my post as the best response. I experienced trying to prevent causing pain when breaking up but it's just impossible to do.
God bless and have a nice day.

When I was still immature, I broke up with my ex's through text message only. Now I try to make it a bit personal by being there face to face with a letter.. I say just a few words. I don't want to see the shock in the guy's face. I don't want to see him crying.

well i think something like break-up or a proposal should always be done face-to-face.. Doing it through email or text is never going to be the same.. in fact, breaking up through email of text is just a tad bit insulting, if you ask me. if it is a long distance relationship, you can still call up on phone and do the dirty work..

Well for me I don't break up with a text, or an email especially when she's just near me, I write what I feel first, then sees her personally, face to face. I just don't wanna stay longer, so I give her a letter for her to understand what's the reason why I'm splitting up with her. I just don't wanna see her cry, and not letting me go. It hurts you know. Have a nice day to you!
