If a friend tricked you before, for instance, for some benefit he(or she)told lies to you, do you wanna be friends with him(her)again still? What is true friendship?I wondering...

There is an old saying that states..."Fool me once, shame on you...Fool me twice, shame on ME"... I think it is a good guideline...

I would not be able to take him/her as a friend again. I've had few people who I became friends with who talked behind my back and even lied to me upfront. I treasure my friends and I value it a lot, I wouldn't care much about someone who would betray me for any reason. I could give the benefit of the doubt, at least, but the level of friendship may be not at high as before.

Maybe I am solving this problem like you said. Because I cannot treat it cruelheartedly. But we really can't go back like before, Although we have much in common with each other.

A true friend would not lie or trick into something for benefits to themselves. I would not want to continue a friendship with someone like that....it really isn't much of a friendship.

I won't trust him/her as what I did before. Human will try to protect himself, so do I. I forgive him/her, however, just like the broken mirror, it's totally different from before.

In my opinion, friends are someone from whom you can learn something good. It's important to be frank to each other. And if a friend lied to me for some pecuniary benefit, then I won't be together with him(or her) again, who may lie twice. Though, firstly maybe you should talk to him (or her) frankly and express your hurt due to his doing.

I would not be able to trust that person so I doubt I would stay friends with the person
