Anyone set any crochet goals for 2009

I made a couple of goals for 2009, and my goals for crochet are 20 baby hats, 5 baby afghans, 20 booties, and 10 baby dresses. These are my charity goals. I would like to also make a bikini, my first. I think they are reasonable goals to achieve, and I cannot think of any reason why I won't meet my goals. I choose to make 5 baby afghans because I lose interest when I have to crochet anything big. What goals have you set?

I haven't set any goals. I may do a swimsuit myself (no bikinis - no one would want to see that!!!) I know how to make the top without a pattern. It is figuring out the bottom. I am also thinking about lining it with non-stretchable fabric, because I don't particularly like to look of crochet stitches when they are stretched.

Well, the bikini is not for me. Its for a family member. I have the top figured out, but I am still working on the bottom. I would love to crochet a swimsuit for myself. I guess when I figure out the bottom I could venture into a swimsuit.

I think the top is also just increasing and decreasing. You are right lining is a good idea.

I don't have any goals as specific as yours, but I do have some goals to work on my crocheting projects more this year and to try to sell whatever I can. I have finally been able to quit my part time job that made up the difference in my bills that my disability didn't cover. Now it has been raised enough for me to live on. But I want to do some crafting and sell it to make some extra income just for fun. So I guess my goal is to get started and see what I can accomplish now that I actually have the time for it.

I know what you mean about working a part time job to make ends meet. I am now working a full time job and a part time job. One is seasonal and the other I got it for the holidays, and it should be over early February. It is challenging doing crafts to make money very competitive, good luck to you.

How are you coming along with your goals for the year??I also do charity crafts. We make blankets for neonatal babies at a local hospital and Disaster relief. Then I had a lady want me to do some consignement items for her store, so I can't decide which way to start. I make the little hats the fastest, and just finished two baby blankets last week. I hope to start on some dishcloths next for the store, and then will probably go back to the baby blankets. Good luck reaching your goals. What charity do you make items for?

I don't set any goals as I fly from one project to another. Years ago I made afghans but now just do small projects. And not always just in crochet. My attention seems to be slipping, lol. I love the hat you posted, could you share where you found the pattern? Thanks.

It has been awhile since I did any crocheting but I used to do it quite regularly. My trademark has always been receiving blankets for new babies and stuffed animals and dolls. My daughter's best friend is going to have a baby boy in February so I've decided how better to get myself started again than by making her a receiving blanket. So I am going to see what yarn I have and what I need to buy and get started on it so it will be ready by the time the baby gets here. Then I will dust off some of my old patterns and start making some things again.

Knowing me and the way I am, my goal for this year is to just finish the blanket that I am working on now. I am horrible about finishing things in a timely manner. I am like you, with a big project I lose interest and move on to another new and exciting thing. I should be able to finish the current blanket I am working on and possibly finish a cross-stitch item I have been working on for even longer. We'll see! Good luck with your goals! That would be too much for me to try!

I understand the blanket dilemma to well. I started one two days ago, and I already put it aside. I am sure I am going to meet my goals. I figure I should be half way in 6 months.
