I have a difficult situation. I am in a city where m st of the trains pass through in the night. My daqughter is in hostel in another city and invariable i haver to receive her or see her off at 2 AM or 3 AM. One cna neight sleep before that nor after that. It is really taxing and i resent it, but i have no option. I am waiting for her course to be over then at least she can stay home or take up a job and come less often or from a different direction so that she reaches at a good hour. Do you have to receive anyone at such odd hours? if you had to, how would you take it?

well my situation is also similar to yours as i also stay in a place which lies on the mainline between two important cities of india.many people including relatives pass by my town and mostly during night hours,i can skip if that person is not that important but how to skip going in the night to receive or meet my intimate friends and family members.at times it pains and it pains even more when the trains are late that day.at times i even feel like shifting my base to a nearby town.

No I don't receive anyone at such odd hours. Can you daughter try to find suitable hours to travel so that it won't be taxing for you?

I have picked my sister up from the train station at about 10 pm before, but that is the latest. That was when I lived in the city a few blocks from her house. Anything later than that she has always gotten a cab home from the train station.
