I was wondering what everyones thoughts are on the new barbie dolls they keep coming out with? I personally as a mother dont like them espically the bratz and other dolls like them. I think they make these dolls dress to much LIKE trash. Are children see these dolls and want to dress like them . And when they make dolls like britney spears and so forth gggggggrrrrrrr!

Those Bratz with their heads make me sick, actually.I hate disproportion in toys in general and there's nothing worse than this alien doll with disgusting make-up, dressed like sl*t.

I am not to keen on them but its up to us as parents to install the morals within our children. I am sure the clothes and the colours are what catches the little ones eyes. i know my daughter had her Bratz days and she dresses far from sleazy now. She dresses more like a tomboy ..lol

shell94,
You are right. We as parents need to install moral values in our kids. But it is really hard when kids see this trash dressing in toys that all little girls want. Kids see those and think parents are to hard on them and don't understand them. I think stuff as this sets kids up later in life to rebel against the parents. But it is only the beginning of doing so.

I'm a grandmother with grandkids now, but when my girls were little I would have never ever bought them those Bratz dolls. Barbie used to have, or represent, 'values' back then...in other words, she had tasteful clothes, work type clothes (Dr/lawyer/etc, etc) but nothing revealing or sleazy. The dolls they make now are just trashy, to say the least. No wonder little girls think they should dress that way, and think it's acceptable. In my personal opinion, I think they're teaching little girls to want to be, and dress like, (for lack of a better word lol) miniature immature little sexpots. When did little girls cease to be little girls who dreamed of being a fairy princess, and all that kind of stuff?!

I do think the Bratz dolls and newer Barbies are trashy looking for my 8 yr old little girl. Young girls wish to dress like them and be like them. Sorry but my 8 yr old will never walk out of the house with a shirt showing her stomach, lipstick on, and glitter on eyes. To trashy in my eyes. I think Brittanty Spears is trash..who can't sing. I always have. Turns out I was right. She is a psycho blonde without a brain.

I am not particularily fond of the way that these dolls are outfitted either. I also think though that I have been instilling enough values in my daughter that I do not have to worry to much. She is 8 and already she knows when a shirt is too short on her and she will voice her opinion that it is too short. But also the parents that do not watch what their kids are wearing is a problem. So peer pressure is also a problem. And clothes manufacturers are producing these very clothes. It is harder now a days to find clothes that are appropriate. But I tell you I will find them for my daughter.
