Sadly, I've only read the Hobbit. When I was in 7th grade I tried to read the Two Towers (it was the only one my school had. Why? God knows.) I didn't get past the elaborate physical description of the tower. I was amazed at the detail he put into it, but it was too much for me to follow at that age, I guess. I've seen the movies, but I'd like to read the books. In the meantime, I've been wondering a few things. I've heard that the relationships between Aragorn and his lady friends was wrong in the movies, but no one's been able to explain to me how it was SUPPOSED to go. I've got the impression that Galdolf and Sauron are some unique type of being, perhaps similar to angels, but again a thorough explanation of this eludes me. I also know that Tolkien was friends with C.S. Lewis, and I'm wondering if there's meaning to the Lord of the Rings than I'm getting. Like something of an alegory. So, could someone please explain some of this stuff to me? I'm always fascinated by media transitions, but with my two kids to care for now, I just don't know when I'll have time to read the books.

Hey Dudee, I have no idea, I've never read the books either. I usually don't read books to movies. It's so much easier to watch what's happening. I never heard of any of these things so please pass the info along when you find out.

LOL, will do, I'll let ya know. I tend to watch the movie "instead" sometimes too, but LotR is THE classic fantasy tale, so I'd love to actually get through it some day.

I'd like to too, but probably never will.
