ANOTHER CASE OF DOG CRUELTY - Fox terrier starts the year beaten

I am just ashamed to be Maltese right now. Here is a news article just published a few hours ago.
[i]A dog with deep wounds to its head and a massive swelling around its neck and face was found tied in a sack dumped in a skip in Marsalforn yesterday.
Gozo SPCA manager Betty Berry said a passer-by who heard the fox terrier groaning in pain informed the police anonymously. When the police arrived they noticed the sack was soaked in the dog's blood. The animal also had baler twine (string) tied around its neck.
It was rushed to veterinarian Frank Galea's clinic in Victoria, where immediate life-saving treatment was administered. From there, the dog was taken to the Rehoming Centre where it was cleaned of the blood.
Rehydrating fluids were given and the dog was wrapped in warm blankets to counteract the shock.
The animal is critically injured and the vet will reassess it tomorrow.[/i]

I couldn't agree with you more.The more I know people, the more I love my dogs...
Why people are so cruel?
Fox terriers are so loyal, affectionate and they are so good with children.
Hard to believe anyone can do harm to mans best friend....

It is a shame people can do this and still have a clean consious. I hate when I hear about animal cruelty and know that nothing can be done if they can't catch the person who did it. Does make you wanna curl up with your pets and love them more.

I have the same feeling. I wish saffy is here. The only way to combat animal cruelty is education.

Hi ronaldinu,
I cannot bear anymore news about animals be ill treated, what is wron with humans today? it like ill treating your child because thats is what pets are, they are like children, these people should be caught and treated the same as they treated the dog. I pray that the dog will be ok and find a home with people who will love him.

To be honest with you I was so hurt by reading the first few sentences of your post that I couldn't read the rest of it! I really don't understand people. It makes me wonder who the real animals are.............!!!
I've also seen kittens with bloody noses!! Good Lord, who would sock a cat in the nose? That is sick!
People make me very angry at times.
The more people I meet the more I like my cat!

I would like to see the day when these people are tracked down and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This is so sad. I hope this animal survives and I hope they catch whoever did this. If you hear how he is doing please let us know. How can someone be so mean and why? Dogs are man's best friend.

Where I live I see a lot of abuse, particularly towards dogs and particularly in the area of neglect.
If reading about such things gives me a deal of sorrow and distress then do you suppose that someone who doesn't give a shite about the welfare of animals gets some glee and satisfaction from reading such things??? Or even someone who is sadistically inclined?

This is such a sad situation. It's a shame the cruelty a human being can inflict on an innocent animal. I hate these type of stories. The poor baby needs a loving home. With a family that will spoil him rotten. People can be so cruel. When thsi happens I look at my babies and just can't understand why and how a person could hurt or injure a poor helpless, loving animal.
I'm so glad someone found this one and it has a chance at life no matter how slim it is.

I HATE IT! I HATE IT when people to such things to poor animals. I have never understood the reason why people do such cruel things to these animals who can't even speak. That poor dog was beaten so roughly that my heart cried loudly while I was reading the post.
If there was 1 law I could create, it would be to put people who do such cruel things into jail and give them a lifetime prison, the caller deserves a reward though.

That just makes me sick when I hear about stuff like that, I'm a dog lover and I wouldn't ever treat a dog that way, they are supposed to be man's best friend. Some people just think its funny to a dog that way, its a shame. I hope the dog makes it, and gets better.

that's a horrible story. why ddn't they just go on & kill him than to leave him that. how cruel. peoplecan be so mean. i jus don't understand the awful things that people do.i hope your sister child are doing o.k.

That's horrible! It breaks my heart to hear stories like that. These people should have harsher punishment if they are ever caught. I don't understand how people can do that to animals. This dog couldn't possibly do anything that would upset a person so much that they would beat it, but leave it alive and bleeding in pain. What a heartless person. Makes me wish that I could do it back to them so they know how it feels. I can't stand people like that. It's very upsetting!

Oh wow, thats' so terrible. Fox Terrier's are such great dogs, they are obedient and affectionate. Its so horrible to think someone would do that to a helpless animal. The poor thing. I really hope he recovers and is adopted by a loving family.

Hi ronaldinu, There is no need to be ashamed of your countrymen, there are people like that everywhere and it is really too bad. I can't imagine why anyone would want to do something like that to a dog or cat. I love animals dearly and would do anything within my power to keep one from suffering. The person that would leave an animal to suffer like that would likely do the same to a human. To me it shows how little we have evolved in the spiritual sense, that is in the way we show compassion etc. Blessings.
