Hi roniroxas (Happy New Year) I gain weight all year round. But I don't eat too much sweets, it the going out to eat, that makes me gain it. I know my husband is in hog heaven when the holidays comes around he loves sweets. Anything with chocolate, cookis, sweet bread and that's just dessert.LOL I'm going to try and lost at least 10 pounds. Everything you mention sounds so good.

and everything you metioned sounds yummy as well. who can resist sweets during a cold holiday. then a gulp of hot choco too hmmmm... yummy. it also make us gain weight is eating while sitting down for a long time, eating without perspiring because of the weather. thanks for the response and i wish both of us can lose weight to get ready for the next holidays lol.

That was i am afraid of to gain weight and i think i do gain some pounds since new year. I was not eating properly few days before new year because i lost my appetite and when new year come i am eating loads of sweets and i think it may doubles up my size so i guess i will be gaining weight more. Oh gosh! i am sure it will be very difficult for me to lose weight again.

Most of my family did not pressure me to try the treats because they know that the estrogen meds I take make me much more suseptible to gaining weight. What I did was I took a small plate instead of a large one, so that it looked like a lot but really it was a small portion. And then I took a long time to eat the food, you know appreciate the textures and the tastes, try to identify al the ingredients and the spices. I talked to people about their Christmas recipes, too, and you would be surprised at how avidly people will talk about the recipes that have been handed down in the family. A trip or two to the gym helped a bit too, though.

I have not weighed myself but trust me I have put on some pounds. It seemed like I was eating every minute of the day. I have gained 20 pounds in one year. I think I will cut down on my eating now that the holidays are over and try to shed a few pounds

Hello roniroxas! How are you doing? Well, with all the food prepared during the Christmas break, it was difficult NOT to eat. Christmas break for me, officially started in December 20 and will end January 4. Wow! You can just imagine how much time I have to just sit down and eat. LOL! I gained a lot of weight which I'm sure will be able to shed off before January 2009 ends. With my work schedule and with all the activities I have at work, it is easy to shed off all those pounds... I hope... LOL!

we filipinos really love food. in everything we do there is always a good food to go with that. for example simbang gabi... theres puto bumbong ang bibingka to get after hearing the mass. and because the weather is cold we drink more coffee or worst hot chocolate. and yes because you have a long christmas break you have a lot of time to sit and to eat as well. lol. im okay, tired but okay. thanks for the response dolce cheers for 2009

yes i think drinks add a lot to the food we eat. specially when you are drinking soda or cola with the holiday foods. no you dont need to get near the scale little owl, as long as you dont feel that heavy then there is nothing to worry about. thanks for the response and have a nice day.

Winter holidays are, as always, very wicked. The amount of food being eaten at this time of year is enormous, and no wonder everyone gets a little bit fat, and everyone who's saying they haven't there's only one word for them: DENIAL!

my answer is: No, I didn't. I want to spend time with these sweets, salad, donuts and ice cream, I do want to spend my time with my family, even it will make me gain weight. however, I didnot do so, I went on travel in this holiday, althought I didn't want to, but I needed to do so. HOW I envy you!! A NICE DAY!!

I sure wish I hadn't gained weight! I weighed myself right after Christmas and I'd gained 3 pounds! I then pigged out again on New Year's and I really hope I didn't gain any more, but I woudn't be surprised. I hate it, but I always gain weight during the holidays. Then it takes me all winter to lose it again. I guess almost everyone gains weight over the Thanksgiving/Christmas season, so that is what New Year's Resolutions are for!

I spent my holiday eating, eating and eating but luckily, I did not gain weight. I am gifted with a very good metabolism so I can eat whenever I want but I envy those people who can gain weight easily since I am very skinny. Gaining few pounds is very welcome to me.
