Would you sell your own blood?

I think you can sell your blood to get money. I can't even donate blood because I don't weigh the 110 pound limit. I think I would sell some blood though... My blood is healthy and if someone else could make use of it and I would get something out of it I would. Everyone could use some extra cash. Ha

Blood donation is a good thing, because you can help those who are in need of it. As long as your blood is qualified for donation, then there's no harm in doing it. It helps other people as well as yourself because you're giving away something from you so that you can have new and fresher blood.

I dont agree with selling blood for me.If we do it a in a regular basis,it will spoil our heath. There is nothing wrong in donating blood in some critical stages.

Yes, it is unhealthy to withdraw a big amount of blood, but I would hope the agencies that are involved in this method are keeping track of how often a person comes in. Letting out too much blood can kill you. Our bodies can't replace blood that fast.

Here in Australia we donate our blood and do not sell it. I personally think it is wrong for people to sell their blood because all the blood collected is given to those people in need. The thing we need to consider is how good are the blood banks, what is their hygiene like for the donor as well as how they store the blood or plasma and what risks are associated with donating if you are being paid. I am sure that for some people there might be the temptation to donate too often or more often than is good for them, if they are being paid that is. Here in Australia the blood donors do not receive payment and the person who gets the blood transfusion does not pay for the transfused blood or plasma. My partner and I are both blood donors and have been for many years now and here in Australia the Red Cross run the blood banks. The good thing about the Red Cross doing it is that they keep excellent records and make sure that nobody donates too often or more than they are legally allowed to. I first started giving blood 45 years ago now and every year since I started, except for 1 year, I have donated 4 times a year. In fact I have donated blood in many countries in my youth when I was in our military forces and overseas. By a means become a blood donor but for the right reasons and in the full knowledge that by making a blood or plasma donation you could be saving the life of someone.

I've tried to donate plasma before. I've even gone as far as the chair where they put the needle in, but I couldn't go any further than that. They weren't able to find my veins. I have such deep veins, it's not funny. They have a hard time taking inserting a needle in me for whatever reason. I've had to have them poke the needle in the top of my had to get any results at times.

Hi Vanonas, It is good to donate blood. It will give life to somebody and at the same time it is good for our health too. My hubby given many times blood for some people and at that time I was not a situation to donate blood (some health problem). I haven't donated my blood yet. But I don't want to sell my blood. I am happy to donate my blood if anybody needs the same. Donating blood means donating life to somebody.

Of course. It's a renewable resource that helps others. And do not think for one minute that who ever gets your blood is paying for it one way or another. You can also sell your plasma (contained within your blood). Many products are made from plasma. You can make over $200 a month by donating plasma twice a week.

I can't imagine selling my blood for the money. I would be happy to do it if I knew that it was going to help someone, or even save someone else life, I don't think any amount of money is worth that.

no,i dont sell it forever, coz i know that it is harm for my health.i heard that if you sell them once you will want to sell them at the time you sell them next year, because the first time they drain the blood from your body, your body blood change, and that change make you want to make some blood out of your body at the same time next year.so...

I donated blood several times, but i dont think i will sell it anyway. The blood we donates helpes in the saving lives of people, so its good that all of us do it free. But there is also a fact that to whose we donate blood in blood camps use that for selling and making money. So whenever one wants to donate it should go for the hospitals directly.. not into the blood donation camps and all.thanks

Yeah vanonas, I have learnt from the local newspaper here that there are some people making money by selling their blood. Some even doing this too often and cause great harm to their health. As I know we are advised to donate blood twice only in a year. After the blood donating we have to take more nutritious food to make up the lost of blood. As a matter of fact to donate blood once or twice in a year could promote the metabolism of our body, thus it won’t bring any harm to our health. I have donated my blood several times to help the people who need it, but I never ever donate my blood for any money matter. Here in my place there are campaigns held to collect blood donated before the festive season. This is because more accidents on the road will happen quite often during these rushing time. Happy posting and take care.

I think selling blood for money is not right .....you can donate your blood but what i dont like is we donate blood but the other person takes it from you and sells it to the needy .......So neither selling nor donating is right ......yeh if you can give it away for free to some body directly then thats ok....but ot some organization as donated blood i dont aproove it....

Hello vanonas. I have never sold my blood for money. But we have blood-donation stations in the city, either a mobile one on a bus or one in a hospital. There are quite a few people who donate their blood. But I am so sorry to say that I have not tried yet due to my timidness of the interjection to my blood vessel.

That's actually illegal here in the Philippines. That's because the system is not all too great and some people who actually don't have clean enough blood sell theirs just to make extra bucks and they tend to make the sick people worse. I think that if they check enough then I don't really mind it. Personally though, I wouldn't be too optimistic about selling my blood...I don't like the blood transfusion needle. IT'S AS BIG AS A JUICE STRAW! Thanks for the response on my discussion!

In China we call for a volunteer blood donor and I had donated one time in my college time. I think I'll not sell my blood unless I can not live a life. In fact at that time these little money maybe do not work. I hope my blood can help someone in one day but not for sell.
