Is Tom and Jerry films is only for kids?

I've been watching Tom and Jerry shows regularly ever since I was 5 years old and until now that I'm in my mid-30's, simply because, it's been my top favorite cartoon. My husband often teases me that I'm like a little kid, for I'm watching cartoons which are for kids. According to him, Tom and Jerry is only for kids. In response I would also tell him I just can't get out of Tom and Jerry, I love it and I grew with it. For me, Tom and Jerry is not just for kids but for all ages. Adults, and elderlies as well also need to entertain themselves, of course. How about you, is my hubby right with his remark that Tom and Jerry is only for kids? Any idea that might make him embarrassed ( lol! ), I would appreciate your opinions. However, you're still welcome to post your response even your idea is the same as my hubby's.

I am 33 and still watching! I have passed the torch on to my kids....they love it too. you are never too old to laugh.

I'm glad you do that too :-) Tom and Jerry are great movies we can share with our next generation! This type of cartoon is timeless.

Timeless is right! -I'm also of the opinion that The Simpson's "Itchy and Scratchy" has to be a Homage to T+J's enduring popularity with all ages..Thanks for the Best Response!

Hi Marylots, I have enjoyed watching Tom and Jerry since young; still watching it with my nephews and niece. In fact, this is not only the cartoons I watch. There are others like Mickey and Friends, Barney and Garfield - all of which I watch as well!

I'm happy to hear that! I will always enjoy watching Tom and Jerry and other great cartoons as long as I live. Animated/cartoon movies aren't just for kids but for everyone who wants to be entertained. Now for all the responses to my post today, my hubby realized he's wrong. I remember reading someplace before that Tom and Jerry were originally released and shown with an Adult audience in Mind..it's only down to the fact that it's a cartoon series that it got relegated to Kid's TV! Just because a show is animated,doesn't necessarily mean it's only for kids..I feel the same as You,having grown up with T+J! Even if it's a guilty pleasure,Keep enjoying them!

So Tom and Jerry was originally shown with an Adult audience in mind, thanks for this information! Tom and Jerry is really for everyone! It's very enjoyable to watch and I wish there would be more and more Tom and Jerry movies to be made!

I like Tom and Jerry show. Even I, used to watch it when I was young and when I have the chance, I still watch it. It is really an entertaining show that makes me laugh and makes my day brighter. I love watching cartoons and Barbie movies, even at this age.

Same thing with me, 'though Tom and Jerry is my favorite, I also watch other animated / cartoon movies such as Barbie, Archie, Betty & Veronica.

Hello marylots! I don't think cartoons are intended for children only. I also watch spongebon squarepants and I love it. I even collected some spongebob things such as stickers, glasses, etc. I guess if we want something funny, cartoons is a good place to be.

Tom and jerry is not only for kids.Those who enjoys cartoons it will be the best cartoon program.And for those people who are suffering from big people,they can imagine themselves and enjoy.

I don't think so. Adults also enjoy watching nice cartoons. I like watching Tom and Jerry and so does my husband. We have bought DVD of this cartoon. I love China

hello marylots I guess tom & jerry is one of the most watched cartoon films in the world. I still rank them in top order when somebody asks me about my favourite cartoon characters.In my view cartoon movies are a special art form of electronic entertainment that are intended for providing fun to people. Of course there are series like play house disney that are suited oly to childrens,but series like tom & jerry appeal to the whole range of audience. I remember laughing mu heart out many a times while watching tom & jerry. When something gives you pure fun,why avoid it !! have a nice time at mylot.

It's unthinkable that your husband doesn't love Tom&Jerry. I guess that he is an opinionated man. If he sits down, watches a few sections, he would love it.

This is my favorite cartoon all times and I still watch with my kid even today and its never stops me from laughing!!lolz..
