Thank the Lord it came in the mail today!!! For those that don't know what the heck I'm talking about you can see one of my previous posts on this subject of my check not arriving yesterday; http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1856265.aspx?p=2#2_18685961 I am breathing easier now, Thank you God!!! Funny thing is too that , that was my only item today, and it was thrown inside the mail box all the way to the back...like he was MAD, well excuse me Mister if he got into trouble yesterday, pffttt! doubtful! But that check is my only livlihood , and I was desperate for it; Phew!! So I have it now that's all that matters as I really did NOT want to deal with Social Security again about it not arriving here nor the postoffice; and dumb dumb me forgot to mention in my topic post yesterday that I don't do direct deposit since my identity theft a couple of years ago, they hit me in both local banks, so that's why I have it mailed to me and I fret and worry about it every time its late or the ding dong leaves in his bag or truck or whatever silly excuse they have that day/month; so I have it thank you thank you, thank you Jesus!!! I'm almost a bit dizzy now ! (G) thank you everyone who responded yesterday in my hour of RANTING!!! LOL! You've no idea how upset I really was!!!

Hey Jan, I completely understand your stressing out and wanting to bust a nut (the mailman's to be exact! LOL) because I'm on Disability myself and I get two checks a month. One is always supposed to come on the 1st and the other one always on the 3rd, like yours. If those dates land on the weekend we are supposed to get our checks on the Friday before. So far, this has always been the case for me, but, like you, I think I would blow a gasket if my checks didn't arrive on their appointed dates. I'm so glad to know that your check did finally arrive, sweetie! Also, please take it easy on the chocolate. I don't want you to suffer any health problems later in life as a result of it. Have you heard of carob? It's very similar to chocolate and is naturally sweet plus it has fiber. Ask your dr if you can eat that instead. I used to eat it a lot in the mid '70's to mid '80's. It's actually very tasty. Have a great day today and an even better one tomorrow! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

I truly feel for you, sweetie. I have such a craving for chocolate myself I don't know what I'd do if I was diabetic. I'll tell you what's really nasty! That fat free chocolate!! Yuck!! Disgusting! I tried it one time and that was enough for me! Phleugh!!!!! LOL! Now that you have your rent paid for this month and your bills paid that means it's another month of living where you are then..........! That's what I say to Mija when I get my checks. I say, "Well, Mija, I just paid the rent and the bills and now we can stay here for another month!" LOL! I am praying for you, Jan. Please pray for Mija because she is sick and is now on prescription food for awhile. She's doing well on it which makes me so happy for her. She was vomiting a lot. Poor baby. Take care, sweetie. I've got lots to pay on monday and those places just don't "understand" when you tell them that your check didn't come in the mail its like being in school and you tell them the dog ate your homework LOL! Sometimes a dog really will eat the homework but its said so much, the Teacher's don't believe us...LOL!! Come to think of it, I said that a few times when I was a kid in School...they never believed me either...

Hey, I really feel quite happy for you. I could also imagine myself in the same situation as you, since I also have to put up with Social Security and it is not that pleasant. I would also hate it if I was expecting a cheque and it would not arrive. Especially say, if the cheque was a large amount. But if that cheque would be my ONLY source of income and it wouldn't arrive, I would just start going mental. But thankfully, you are safe. Thank God!!!

HI Elite: yeah its stressful alright that's for sure, Aahh you say you too have to deal with Social SEcurity fun ain't it??? NOT!!! so much paperwork all the time year after year after year it just never ends and this time of year it all starts rolling in I just finished a big batch of it here where I live and wouldn't you know just because we get a "tiny increase" in our checks they of course up the monthly rent, and spenddown per month will be increased so we never win, it might look good on the check but we don't benefit from it; it sucks!!

I did realise how upset you were and you had reason to be. I am happy that it did come though. Dealing with beaurocracy is he;ll in any country and it would have been so hard and time consuming to have the cheque replaced. I thank God that it came for you. Blessings dear friend

That's great!! I'm glad you got your check in the mail! I would be upset if it took a long time to get to my house too. I have direct deposit and one time my money got into my bank account late in the day rather than early in the morning so I was freaking out about not getting my money.

Ma'am, I'm going to assume you are a lady, but I feel the best thing to do is get it direct deposit so you don't deal with no mail person no more. That way you could have had it yesterday morning, and you wouldn't deal with no mailman. Just a thought.I know you have issues with that, but think on it this way, you can work on getting it cashed and that to me is best. Or better yet, get a P.O.Box and let it go there. just a thought.

HI SAvvynladY; Yep I'm a woman (G)! I don't do direct deposit anymore since I got hit with identity theft, so I switched to another bank and in a few months got hit again, ( long long story there) so I started having my checks mailed to me, which was fine until I moved to where I am now and its been pure hell ever since with my ding dong of a mailman; I don't have the extra $$money$$ for a P.O. box either I've thought about it but I just can't afford it, I've too many other bills, meds, car insurance etc..etc.. believe me I've thought about it...??? I'm just grateful it showed up today and now I can breathe easier!

Way to go gal..so glad you got your check! Talk about breathing easier, right? And sorry to hear you were hit with identity theft not once but twice...sheesh. Actually over a year ago, I had a problem...I mean here I am and I DO get direct deposit. Well I always get my money in the first of the month. Well, one time I zoomed up to my computer to check to make sure my money was in my account...NOPE! Like WTF??? I called SS and was told that yes, they did direct deposit my money into my account...know what happened? I guess someone was sleeping on the job at the bank end of it and was lazy about officially posting it into my account...The woman at SS was really nice (the 800 number) and since she had my bank's number called them for me...we did a three way phone thing between her, the bank and me...then the bank told me it should be officially posted the next day..like huh? Why not today? Morons. But at least the next day it was in...

Hi Pye Honey; yeah it sucks to be "me" for sure even on a good day if I have a good day...LOL!!! Yeah its scary isn't it when our money is supposed to be either in our accounts or in our mailboxes and you look and check and its not there, makes the old Heart go pitter patter too fast...it does me!! (sigh)!!

I'm so glad for you. I know how it is when you're waiting for that check and everything's due! Yes I do know how upset you were. I've been there! When I was working for a temp agency they didn't have direct deposit and if my check was a day late I was in the same kind of spin you were in yesterday.

Hi Jan, I am so glad to hear that your check came!! Thank goodness that I've never had the problem of identity theft, but I imagine that's a very good reason for not doing direct deposit. Happy MyLotting! Char

HI Char: yeah its a nightmare for sure; nothing like writing out checks for all your bills and then they all come bouncing back into the bank cause the money you had deposited is now all gone; bye bye see ya!!! Like I said once they get your information, they've got you until you die or change it; its not as easy to change it like on tv or the movies either (G)!!!

I am responding to this discussion on March 18, 2009. I see three months ago you were frantic about a check not being delivered. I am glad to see that you are now breathing easier now. My husband worked for a company for one day in July of last year. A lady from the job called to ask for his SS number in July. We thought she was going to send him his check. A check never came, and my husband is not one to follow up with things, we forgot about it. Last month he received a W2 from that company. I said to him, but you never received the check. He said that he did. Now, I know what money has come because I keep tabs on it. I am unemployed now, and we need every penny we can get. I finally convinced him to call, and they took three weeks before they got back to him. They said the check was not cashed, DUH, and that they would send out another one. That was a month ago. We still have not received the replacement check, and every time my husband calls, the man is not there, and they will not respond to voice mail messages. I am so tired of the non professional way these people are displaying. I used to work do payroll, and if an employee called about their check, I made it a priorty, because I know people need their money, I didn't just blow them off.

Hey jan! I am so happy that all our prayers were answered and that your mailman was spared from your killing him! lol Not that I really cared about your mailman mind you! I did only care that you got the check because I do know how important that was to you! So now you can rest a bit easier for the rest of the weekend and take it to the bank on Monday to get it cashed! Yay! I know that it is a pain in the butt! It is too bad that there isn't an easier way for you to do this. I don't understand about the indentity theft thing. That really sounds awful! But, as long as the check is now safe and sound in your possession we can all rest easier!

HI Opal: Yes thank God!! I just don't understand this mailman here, the reason he is so late in the spring/summer time is he is so busy jabber-jawing to so many that by the time he gets on my street which is about the last of his route, its anywhere from 5-6:00 p.m. and he many not stop at all if he is running too late I've seen him just DRIVE ON DOWN THE STREET FULL SPEED!!! Now you can't tell me everyone on my street had no mail that day??? Most of the residents here are too drunk, or whacked out on God knows what to notice, but I notice...even on my worst days I still have more sense about me than most of my neighbors here LOL! Sad but true! his silly delivery truck he drives needs a muffler, if he ever fixes it I won't be able to hear him LOL! But you can hear this thing a mile away!! He just really needs a Swift kick in the pants !!! I wish he was on another route or not at all you know?
